Gloria Hunt Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 10, 2025.
Gloria (Coffey) Hunt, of Falmouth, formerly of Medford, aged 97, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024. Born on July 11, 1927, Gloria was a devoted mother and a cherished member of her community.

During World War II, Gloria embarked on a remarkable career at Stone & Webster Engineering, where she worked for 12 years as an engineer's assistant. Her first assignment was on the Manhattan Project, a role that saw her escorted by armed guards while handling sensitive materials a thrilling chapter in her life. After leaving Stone & Webster to start a family, Gloria later enjoyed a fulfilling part-time role in Banquet Function services, where she made lifelong friends and thrived in the social atmosphere.

Gloria was known for her vibrant and active lifestyle. She loved walking, swimming, and biking, and she was a frequent cruiser, relishing the shipboard dining and gambling opportunities. A lover of Italian cuisine, Gloria embraced the culture's warmth and generosity, which she deeply admired.

Gloria was predeceased by her husband, John Hunt Sr.; her sons, Thomas Hunt and John Hunt Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Eric) Gadpaille and Susan Hunt; and special family members Corinne (Paul) Stuart, Michael Saviano, and David (Rose) Saviano.

A service to celebrate Gloria's life will be held at the First Congregational Church of Winchester Ripley Chapel, 21 Church St, Winchester, MA, on June 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM.

Gloria's life was marked by her dedication to her family, her career achievements, and her zest for life, leaving behind a legacy of love and vibrant memories for all who knew her.
