Newman Gloria Jean (Naso) Newman. World's best wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Gloria Jean (Naso) Newman, age 87, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015. Gloria was born April 30, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA to Frances and Rose Naso. She attended the University of Pennsylvania where she trained as a hematologist and worked as an assistant with Dr. Embriglia at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. On December 27, 1952 she began her wonderful 62 years of marriage to William F. Newman. She soon came to Columbus with William and worked at The Ohio State University as a Hematologist working with Dr. Doan. The majority of her life was dedicated to her husband, her daughters Marianne Dula (deceased), Rose Marie Coleman, Patty Hand, and Dorothy Iwanski, her 16 grandchildren as well as five great grandchildren. She was a founding member of the Worthington Historical Society and for many years managed the Worthington Historical Society Gift shop. There will be a Remembrance Gathering on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, located at 6699 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio. On Friday, February 20, 2015, there will be a Funeral Mass at St. Michael Catholic Church, 5750 N High St., Worthington, OH at 10:30 a.m. in Worthington. Father Matthew Morris, Celebrant. A celebration of her life will follow at Worthington Hills Country Club located at 920 Clubview Boulevard South, Columbus, Ohio. She loved life and she especially loved helping others. She never tired in her dedication to her family. She will be sadly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Worthington Historical Society at www.worthingtonhistory.org Visit www.schoedinger.com to share a favorite memory or express condolences.
