Gloria Byrd Trice

With heavy hearts but profound gratitude, we celebrate the life of Gloria Trice, who peacefully transitioned on November 16, 2024, after a prolonged illness. Gloria lived a life full of love, joy, and purpose, leaving behind a legacy that will forever inspire those fortunate enough to have known her.

Born on July 9, 1957, Gloria was a beacon of light to family and friends. Her unwavering kindness, vibrant spirit, and dedication to helping others made a lasting impact. Throughout her journey, Gloria embraced life fully, cherishing meaningful relationships, giving generously, and finding beauty in every moment.

Gloria touched countless lives through serving her family and church community and creating a warm and loving home. She was a devoted spouse, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who lived with grace, resilience, and a deep love of the Lord. She was a long-time member of Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Box Springs, Georgia and was also formerly employed by Swift Textiles, where she was a member of the President's Quarter Century Club.

"In the end, it's not the years in your life that count, but the life in your years." Gloria truly embodied this sentiment. Though her physical presence will be greatly missed, the memories she created, the love she gave, and the lessons she imparted will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her best.

She is welcomed into eternal rest by husband, Kelvin Trice, parents, Hubert Byrd, Sr., and Ella Frances Byrd and brother Hubert Byrd, Jr. (Billy).

She is lovingly remembered by sons Derrick Byrd and Marcol Harvey (Chelsea), sisters Idell Jenkins, Bernice King, Amanda McCrary (Charlie) and Evelyn Boynton (Homer), brother Bobby Byrd, two grandchildren Michael Byrd and Miracle Sparks, goddaughter Emoree Dewberry and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
