The first time I spoke to Godfrey was around 2005 following a brief "letter to the editor" I wrote for the Montreal Gazette. The subject was about creating a viable aviation museum in the Montreal area. After Godfrey read it, he tracked me down in Chambly and invited me to come and visit the Centre which I did soon after. Godfrey's passion was contagious and now as a member of the Board of Directors, I can clearly see the influence Godfrey had on all of us. His vision and passion will live on through all of the CAHC's members, volunteers and visitors for years to come. He will be missed.

Bon vol mon ami!

From that first day Godfrey came to see me in my office at Macdonald College having been referred by the Macdonald Stewart Foundation I sensed immediately that this was going to be a special relationship. We worked together closely for several years as he planned and put his Aviation Centre together piece by piece volunteer by volunteer. Godfrey would not take no for an answer. He might go away for a while but would come back with a different angle until he had you on side. He was persistent and so passionate about his dream. If there was an obstacle he would find a way around it and not stop until there was a solution. He was resourceful and just knew how to find the people and/or resources to help solve a problem and move his project forward. I truly admired his commitment and dedication and enjoyed the challenges he provided. A unique and true gentleman. Greg Weil.

We aviation artists are in general an under appreciated lot and an endangered species. There was one man who really supported our genre of art and understood the close relationship the aviation museum environment could have with fine art: Godfrey Pasmore. He spent many years cultivating a close relationship with some of the finest Canadian aviation artists commissioning them to do works which would become the Godfrey Pasmore Collection, now housed in a gallery exhibiting one of the largest Canadian collections of aviation art.
He was my friend and I miss him.

Godfrey shared my life for 18 years and he was always a fantastic "papou" for my two grand children.

Godfrey Pasmore knew there was no Museum preserving Quebec Aviation history so he decided to create one. His legacy is the Canadian Aviation Heritage Center, an enduring gift to all Quebecers. Godfrey inspired others to catch his dream and the museum exists today because of his vision and determination. He was a sweet and special person.
