Dear Karen, Walter, and William,
We always enjoyed the time our families spent together many years ago. My parents, Erle and Marion Smith, thought the world of your parents. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time.

What a wonderful person Gordon was. He was most caring and had the utmost respect for his teachers. He always had a sympathetic ear and the best stories too. We certainly will miss his tremendous voice! Our prayers are with you in these days of sadness. May the love of family and friends carry you all through gently.

I will always remember Dr. Hammond as the most kind and generous of souls.
Dr. Hammond was the first school administrator that I worked for as a young English and GED teacher at Milford Central School in 1985-1986.
He loved his community, believed in his students and teachers, and valued education for all.
Dr. Hammond, it was a privilege to be one of your teachers; I thank you for the encouragement and kindness.

I feel so lucky to have even known you for the short while that I did. You always brought a smile to my face and gave me wisdom during our many conversations. You will be greatly missed!

Karen, Walter and William, we were sadden in reading of your father's passing. Your father, Dr. Gordon, was a friend of mine for over 25 years. He was a passionate leader in education and very respected in his community, as a Cabinet member in the ONC BOCES and at the state levels of educational administration organizations. God bless you and your families and cherish the memories you have of your father.
