What could anyone say that would be better than the man was himself. I wouldn't have been able to start Rebuilding Together (then Christmas in April) in Montgomery County without him. He added so much to our relationship. I miss him

Many years ago on a typically fine day in web cove while preparing my sailboat for a day on the water Gordon paddled up in his kayak and greeted me "It's a great day for the race!". Wondering if I might be missing a sailing event in Stonington I asked, "What race?" "The Human race" Gordon replied.
His affability, his humor, optimism and kindness will be missed by all of us.

To our beloved neighbors in Maine, we send our love and condolences to the entire extended family. We will never forget Gordon's gentle and unfailing humor and gentle friendliness. It was always a highlight of our day to see him -- and you too, dear Page -- and we recall with great pleasure many adventures and good times with him. -- Gusty Lange and Steve Ettlinger

Gordon Hawk's passing is a loss to his family but also a loss to our community. He practiced servant leadership. He provided a guiding light in countless private and civic endeavors enriching our community. His friendship and mentoring will be sorely missed. Our prayers go out to his family.

Gordon Hawk was one of the kindest, gentlest and (politically) one of the smartest individuals I ever met. I felt privileged to know him and to work with him. His kind comes along rarely. He will be missed.

My friendship with Gordon Hawk (and Page) will always be one of the bright spots in my life. From playing golf (and walking nine holes) to serving on the Saint Mark 50th Anniversary planning team, he was always a thoughtful and gentlemanly spirit. He will be missed greatly by all of us who loved him.

Each morning as we walk our dog around the neighborhood and pass Gordon and Page's old house on Oak Place, I think of the two of them. Gordon was a gentle, honorable person -- such a rare thing in those associated with politics these days. Our thoughts are with Page and their family.
