It is with great sorrow that I learned of Gordie's passing. It is of greater sorrow that he apparently resided only a few miles from me, and I didn't know it. We were professional colleagues for many years as members of Inst Traffic Engrs. I don't have an Illinois Section yearbook but I think Gordie was a past President. If not, he should have! He was a real pro and a guy who could get things done. Thank you, Gordie, for your many contributions to our profession. You earned a double E; one for Effort and one for Excellence! God Bless! Patricia and Bill Schweitzer

The Schweitzer family of Missouri will always treasure the warm memories of our uncle and his extended family. His visits along with our Aunt Ruth are a special reminder of the love of fellow believers as well as relatives. We saw so many decades of history through Gordie's sacrifice in World War II, but more importantly, we saw how a man lives his faith long after he retires from work. Gordie and Ruth spoke love into the lives of others in the hopes that they, too, would embrace the unconditional love of a Savior, a best friend forever, BFF. You have done well in this race set before you, Gordon. Our Heavenly Father has said, "Well-done, my good and faithful servant."
