Thank you for putting up with us crazy grandkids for all those years! We'll miss you around the house playing pool and stuffing paper into the toes of our shoes. I'll miss you forever, Boogyman!
Love you Grandpa.

When I think of Gordie I remember a ruggedly handsome man with kind eyes full of merriment and devilment, all at the same time. I arrived in Ottawa, May, 1954 as a skinny, naive 19 year old bride and Gordie insisted on calling me Mary from Hackersburg. It was fine with me. He was an extraordinary man Larger than life and we were such good friends. I love him and miss him.

We'll remember Gordie for the way he always treated us like family. On our trips to Canada he welcomed us with warmth and Canadian hospitality. Gordie was certain a "rock" and we will miss him enormously.

There are so many memories. I was stick boy for some of Gordie's teams and I would sneak a beer or two on the bus while riding back to Ottawa after a road trip. He came to my games and said I was a better foortball player than a hockey player. I spent years working with him in the gas station. More fun than work especially when I could sneak a customer's car off for a joy ride. Usually I left a dent or evidence of what I'd been up to. Gordie was a great kidder. At his 80th birthday we roasted him and his some Jack said (I'm paraphrasing) "Gordie knew where the line was and he never crossed it". When my time comes if anyone says "Ed was an O.K. guy but he was only one tenth the man that his brother Gordie was, I would consider that high praise. I will never forget my big brother. I only hope I can stop crying pretty soon.

We were very saddened to hear of the loss of your father. He was a very dear friend to our father Leonard Purcell. We knew Gordie to be warm, friendly and kind. He was uncommonly good to our dad over the years, especially as our father aged and was not well, Gordie never forgot to keep in touch. That meant the world to our dad and us as well. Gordie Pantalone was a loyal friend and a true gentleman and my sister and I held him in very high regard. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time.
