Gordon Peter Prince

Gordon was a special blessing to my wife and I when we were just rookies in ministry. He was a personal encouragement with his words and with his actions.



I remember when Laurie and I purchased our first home that needed some updating. Of course, we barely could afford the mortgage payments let alone any home improvements to be made. Gordon came in to look at our home before we even moved in . . . started talking about the improvements that "we" were going to do. While standing in the kitchen I said, "Gordon, we can't put up new cabinets, we can't . . . and before I could continue he took a hammer and slammed it into the kitchen wall and asked, "You don't want a wall with a big hole in it do you? We will put up new cabinets in place of it."



Sure enough, a couple weeks laters, and several thousand dollars later we had a "new" house. New kitchen cabinets, appliances, fresh paint, carpet, tile, new bathrooms . . . nice. While driving us downtown for a Christmas lunch, (he drove looking at us in the back seat, and hardly ever looking ahead at the traffic) he grabbed a bunch of receipts from above his visor and tossed them to me and said, "Merry Christmas."



His kindness and generosity was extended to us numerous times. And he loved kids! Maybe that's why he loved Laurie and I . . . in fact, Gordon was just a big KID himself. We love and appreciate him very much.

Condolences to Randall and Teri on the passing of an old and crazy friend. He was a good man and friend.

No truer friend there ever was.

You didn't just live life, you lived it to the fullest,

Gathered and took those around you on a wild ride,

Laughter, wild uproarious laughter.

I'll never forget the adventures we had,

The amazing foray into yesteryear in Michigan.

Muffin and company squeezed onto the teeny tiny cot.



Your gathered my children into your arms,

and taught them things I would have never thought to teach.

I too learned by your example, whether you were creating a haven,

or adding something weird to your toast.

You were my example when David died,

that life will indeed continue.

Differently, yes, but certainly.



Opinions, oh yes you had opinions

And even if they differed from mine I never minded

Because they were you. They were Gordon.

Though it's been awhile since we were together

You were always in my heart.



I'll miss you dear friend,

But I know you are with our two angels

Chasing salamanders and having fun.

You are at Peace.

Our condolences are offered to the family of Gordon. My friend for the past twenty years.

Dear Linda and Family,

I am deeply sorrowed by the news of Gordon's passing. He was a long time friend. I know he is in a better place today with God, "giving him orders"
