Grace Hayter Obituary

Published by Edmonton Journal from Jan. 26 to Jan. 27, 2005.
HAYTER, Grace Jacqueline (Jac'y) On January 24, 2005, after a valiant battle with cancer, Jac'y peacefully passed away in the Misericordia Hospital, in the presence of her husband, Councillor Ron Hayter, and other family members. She was 64. Jac'y, the daughter of Elmer and Eva Bacon, was born February 2, 1940 in the Peace River Country, attending elementary and high school in Grande Prairie, Fairview and Fort St. John. She will be dearly missed by her husband, two daughters and a son, Sparkle Hayter, Sandra MacIntosh, and Nevin Hayter; two grandchildren: Jennifer Hayter and Emerson MacIntosh; three brothers: Bob of Rose Prairie, Ron of Cold Lake and Gene of Stony Plain; three sisters: Myrna Watt of Didsbury, Patricia Smith and Janis Parent of Calgary; and by the family dog, Penny, a loyal companion. She was predeceased by a son, Hudson; a sister, Annette Mireau of Edmonton; and her parents. Jac'y will be sadly missed by the many people whose lives she touched impacted and inspired as a teacher, a member of her church, and as volunteer for her community league, Terra Association and many other community endeavors. We are deeply grateful for the care and compassion given by the Misericordia staff to Jac'y and her family. Celebration of Jac'y's life for family and her church family will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church on Friday, January 28, 2005 with Reverend Stephen Hallford officiating. Others may attend a Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m. at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 - 114 Street, Edmonton. Friends who so wish may make memorial donations directly to the Terra Association, 9930 - 106 Street, Edmonton, Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, St. Peter's Anglican Church, or any charity of one's choice. Connelly-McKinley Ltd., 10011-114 Street, (780) 422-2222, to send condolences: www.connelly-mckinley.com

Ron and family...Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. The Bacon family lived west of my dad's farm , west of Fairview many years ago. My maiden name was Friedel, and Bob Bacon was a good friend of my brother,John, and would help with farm chores after school.I recall Annette more as I went to school with her in Fairview. Grace was younger than I. Regards to the Bacon family and our deepest regrets..Caroline & Adrian Richardson

Dear Ron and family,

I am sorry to hear of Jac'y's death. I met Jac'y when I was a student intern at St. Peter's. She was a beautiful, creative and compassionate person, and I won't forget her. God bless you all. I'll be keeping you in my prayers in the time ahead.

Ron and family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Grace and her family were neighbors of ours years ago.The Bacon family lived west of my Dad's farm west of Fairview. My maiden name was Friedel and Graces's brother, Bob was a great friend of my brother,John, they would do chores together at Dad's every night after school. I remember Annette better as we went to school together in Fairview. Please pass this on to Bob and the rest of the family. Again, our prayers are with you. Dear Mr. Haytor & Family,

My staff, my daughter and myself would like to extend our deepest sympathy for your loss. Our lives have touched only briefly at various times and my knowledge of Mrs. Haytor has been the presence of great poise and congeniality. I am most honoured to make a donation in her memory to TERRA.

Dear Ron and "Family",

I wish to extend my sincere sympathy and condolences to you all. I look forward to speaking with you at the memorial service.

My memories of Jacy' will always be her congeniality, her loyalty to family and most of all her optimism of life.

A couple of years ago she gave me a picture of beatiful morning glories growing up the railing of your front steps. So now when I tend to my morning glories, I will think of Jacy'. Take care Ron.

Love,

Wendy
