In memory of
Darlene Howard
May 31, 2004
John & I loved Grace so much. We had many visits with her in Prove during our years together. She alwlays seemed so happy for us to come and stay with her. We enjoyed getting into her genealogy and pictures and having many hours just talking. She & John always had a special connection. Now they are both gone and I think of them having a great reunion above. Our whole family will greatly miss her. John and Darlene's family

Dear, dear Grandma Grace. I will miss you. You brightened many of my days during your regular visits to Bellevue, WA to visit Emily and Gail and your grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, and frequently popped over next door to check on the Taumoefolaus. On several occasions you would travel to the Northwest by train at Christmastime and be on the very train my own 90-year old dad would be on coming to visit us. A very beautiful quilt that you made for us drapes over a chair in our family room and I am reminded of you.
I love your family. I know they are treasures to you.

Grandma Grace was such an awesome person. When I burnt my hand on a school project she cared for me till my mom came home from work. I remember making gingerbread houses with her on Christmas and I will never forget in the summer she would come watch all our silly plays. I have such fond memories of her and while I am sad at her passing I am also very excited that she has returned to our heavenly father.

Kathleen, Emily, Gayle Ann, Maggi, and Mary Alyce and families--
Don is the grandson of James Johnston. Your mother was our loved Grandma Grace. She often visited us on Memorial Days when we lived in Rock Springs and stayed with us many times. We always loved her visits. She called us on our birthdays and her Christmas letters were always wonderful and fun to read. We still have a crotcheted snowflake, a cut and stitched Christmas tree, a gingerbread house and 2 baby and one large, beautiful and warm quilt she made for us.She compiled the Johnston geneology and made and distibuted copies, including copies of photos,to all of Jim's family. This precious gift will commemorative your mother for generations. We haven't talked to Grace much in the last years and will regret that we didn't keep in better touch. Your mother was such a special person. Her warmth and generous spirit always warmed our hearts (and still does). She was interested and interesting--I always wished I were more like her.
She was always very good to all of Jim's family and tried her best to keep in touch with everyone. She mentioned once that she must have had "grace" to have raised her girls after the death of your father and she did. As someone else in the guest book as said, she graced our lives and we were blessed to have been fortunate to know and love her. We will miss Grandma Grace but will cherish her memory. Our thoughts are with you all now in your sorrow and thank you all for sharing your wonderful mother with us.

Grandma Grace was my adoptive Grandma and she will be missed greatly. She taught me to crochet and quilt and she always let me use her pencil sharpener.

Dear Emily and family, What a priviledge it was to meet your valiant mother. I will never forget her stalwart and faithful spirit. I could feel her strength when I was around her. She never seemed to age. Yes! she was a marvelous woman. May all go well as you proceed with all the necessary arrangements; may the funeral be as you and Grace would wish. Our hearts are with you all. We will miss Grace. Love, Julienne and Richard

I remember the Kobler Family when they lived on 5th East across the street from Maeser School in Provo. We were in the same Ward. Sis. Kobler and my mother Zipporah Prestwich were friends and Emily and I were friends. They are a wonderful family. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Grace was extremely compassionate and caring. She took great pride in her flower gardens, and took good care of her darling "gingerbread" house. I will miss her attending our families' Sunday meals. I know that there was wonderful rejoicing when Grace entered Heaven. She was truly an angel on earth. She will truly be missed. I love you, Grace!
