Grace M. Keip
Grace Marie Keip, 82, of Hometown, and formerly of Bear Creek Lake, Jim Thorpe, and Tamaqua, died Thursday in Hometown. She was the widow of Frank J. Keip, who died in 2001.
She and her husband were the owners of the former Keip Insurance Agency of Tamaqua.
Born in Hazleton, she was a daughter of the late James L. and Mary (McHugh) Laughlin.
She was a member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church, Tamaqua, graduating from the former St. Jerome High School in 1949.
She attended Penn State - Hazleton to acquire an insurance brokers license.
A former coach of St. Jerome's girls' basketball team, she was a supporter of Marian Catholic High School as well as supporting many local churches.
Surviving are three sons, Frank J. Keip in Florida, Michael J. Keip of Williamsport, and his wife, Deborah, and Mark A. Keip of Hometown; two daughters, Kathleen A. Keip of Tamaqua and Maryliss A. Keip of McAdoo; grandchildren, Ryan Keip, Erin L. Keip, Sarah Grace Keip, Kristin Favor, Caine Brobst, Cassandra Brobst; great grandchildren, Isabella Favor, Dylan Favor, Ashton Favor, Landon Favor, Faithe Favor, Logan Allen Deiter and Reigna; and a sister-in-law, Maryann Laughlin of Owl Creek.
She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shannon Keip; brothers, Jack, James, Cornelius, and William Laughlin, and Jack Martino; and a sister, Kathryn Laughlin.
Service: noon, Saturday, Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, with the Rev. William Linkchorst officiating. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Call 11 a.m. - noon.
