GRACE McLEOD (nee CAMBER) 1918 2012 A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and sister-in-law passed away peacefully at Parkridge Centre, Saskatoon on January 21, 2012 at the age of 93. She will be lovingly remembered by her four sons and two daughters: Edward Charles Chuck (Gale) of Brighton, ON, Malcolm John Mac of Vancouver, BC, Clara Jean (Floyd) Allard of Prince Albert, SK, John Charles Jackie (Elsie) of Saskatoon, SK, Stephen Henry of Toronto, ON and Linda Bernice (Brian) Sunderland of West Kelowna, BC; son-in-law Garry Rayner of Genelle, BC; sister Agnes Lehnus; sister-in-law Gladys Camber; brother-in-law Roger Rogers; 21 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; nine greatgreat grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband John "Jack"; daughter Annie Grace Rayner; great grandchild Nathan Reed Miller; parents Edward and Sophie Camber; brothers Ted (Betty), Tom (Marie) and Harold; sisters Sophie, Beatrice (Joe) Haythornthwaite, Jean (Ernest) Martin, Alice and Annie Rogers; brother-in-law Herman Lehnus and special friend Jack Swenson. Mom was born on October 14, 1918 and raised in the Davidson district. As a young girl she worked with her father as well as for other farmers. On December 6, 1939 she married Dad and they moved to Paddockwood in 1945. Our mother had not one but many full time occupations home maker, gardener, seamstress, hair barber, maintenance person at the RM office & library, home decorator, cook for family and road crews, laundrier, truck driver at harvest time, bartender and yet always had a helping hand available for others. Mom enjoyed curling, knitting, tending to her flowers and garden, playing crib, and most of all sharing her quick wit, stories and smiles. Mom had an open door policy to all and loved having children coming in and out of her home. When Dad became ill, Mom was his full time care-giver. In 1991 Mom moved to Prince Albert and in 2001 she moved to Saskatoon for assisted care, first to a private care home and then to Parkridge Centre in 2005. Mom has left an imprint on the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered. Special thanks from her family to the staff and nurses at Parkridge Centre and Dr. Baldwin for their exceptional care, kind words and support especially during Mom's last days. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012 at St. David's Anglican Church, 500 24th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with The Reverend Norbert Haukenfrers officiating. Interment will be held at the Paddockwood Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations can be made in Mom's memory to the Alzheimer Association of Saskatchewan, 301 2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grays.ca . Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's Funeral Chapel, Drew Gray, Funeral Director.
