Grace McLeod Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 1, 2022.

Grace Irene McLeod, 98 of Kinde, went to be with Jesus peacefully on May 30, 2022, at her home. She was born on September 9, 1923, in Glennie Michigan to the late Charles and Margaret (Larson) Winn. Harold and Grace were united in marriage on December 1, 1956, in Bad Axe. Harold preceded her in death on April 19, 2000. Grace worked hard all of her life. She and Harold farmed in the Oak Beach and Kinde area for 66 years.  Grace was active in serving the Lord through her local church, Filion Church of the Nazarene. She also enjoyed the Elkton Prayer breakfast and the WCTU chapter. She loved Jesus and the joy of her life was talking about her faith. Grace enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and writing letters to many family and friends. Harold and Grace were blessed with three children, Clinton (Rudy) McLeod of Clover, South Carolina, Mark (Cindy) McLeod of Port Austin, Michigan, and Marcella (Roger) Mosey of Port Austin, Michigan. Additionally, they were blessed with many grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at MacAlpine Funeral Home, Gage Chapel in Kinde from 2-8PM on Friday, June 3, 2022. A memorial celebration of her life will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the MacAlpine Funeral Home, Gage Chapel in Kinde, Michigan.  Rev. Stephen Anthony will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Filion Church of the Nazarene.

I wanted to be sure to express to all of you just how important Grace was to me personally. Having lost my father as I was entering adulthood, I always struggled with where I was going to fit my family into a new life when my mom remarried and moved forward. Grace was the one person that made me feel ridiculous for even having those feelings to begin with. She was always so open and welcoming and telling me each time that I was her grandchild now too. Though we were not tight knit and did not see one another often, when we did the moments stood out. Grace would always share a welcoming hug, stories of life and plenty of admiration for my children. I cannot put into words just how thankful I was to have crossed paths with one of the kindest creatures to step foot on this earth. She will be missed dearly. I cannot thank her enough. Thank you all for sharing a little bit of her with me.

Grace was such a lovely person. She loved the Lord so very much, and was loved by so many. I picture a host of angels rejoicing with her now.
