Grace Skora Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 7, 2025.
Grace Mildred Skora (Tillwach), age 89, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois. Born on November 21, 1935, in the same city she called home throughout her life, Grace's journey was marked by creativity, devotion to family, and a deep love for animals and nature.

Grace was the cherished mother of four children: Carol Wennerstrom, Barbara (Kevin) Bradley, Phillip (Leslie) Skora, and Kerry Skora. She was also a proud grandmother to Ian Wennerstrom, Erick Wennerstrom, Collin Bradley, and Brianna Bradley. Her family brought her immense joy and remained central to her life.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister Mary Ann Shiga (Tillwach). Grace was preceded in death by her siblings Elsie Garcia (Tillwach), Raymond Tillwach, Daisy Pearl "Cookie" Heinz (Tillwach), Jeannette Wilke (Tillwach), Ella Sullivan (Tillwach), Paul Tillwach, and Ronald Tillwach. She also held a special place in her heart for her stepson Wayne Skora and stepdaughter Patricia Skora.

Grace had a remarkable talent for crafting. She found joy in transforming old holiday cards and wrapping paper into beautiful decorations that adorned her home during Christmas and other festive seasons. Her handcrafted creations reflected not only her artistic eye but also the warmth and care she poured into everything she did.

A devoted animal lover throughout her life, Grace especially adored her pet cats.

In accordance with Grace's wishes, her ashes will be spread in Lake Michigan-a place she held dear from childhood through adulthood. The lake's shores were a source of peace and happiness for Grace, where she spent countless hours enjoying the beach.

May Grace's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the ASPCA .
