Dear Sela, Jenna, Berry, and Brock,
We were so sorry to hear of the death of your father. Losing a parent has such a profound effect on a family. When Mother passed away, Sela, your letter meant so much to Daddy and to all of us. Cindy, Guy, Linda, Terry, Daddy, and I want all of you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

I am so thankful that all of you are members of such a close and loving extended family. That will mean so much both now and as time progresses. Those shared memories will be important to you and to your children. Be sure to tell them how the Ward and Plummer families packed the pews at First Christian for the Christmas Eve service "the true spiritual start of the season".

Much love and sympathy from the Plummer family,
J. Terry, Sherry, Cindy, Guy, Linda, and Terry

Someone once said that grief is the inevitable result of a life who loved well. My prayer for the Ward family and Cecile is that as time heals the pain of grief it will also bring joy in the thankfulness of having been loved well. My heartfelt sympathy to all of you.

In 1957, as a young civil engineer, I worked briefly for structural engineer Roy Howell who had an office in the same building with Granberry. For a bit of history, also in the building were Hamilton, Schultz and Luke, consulting engineers and architect R. B. Clopton. These were busy days in Meridian in that Interstate 20 was being started, Meridian was constructing a new Sewerage treatment plant and among others, consolidated schools were being designed and constructed. I was glad to be around these people who were planning some of these projects. I do remember Granberry as being a genuine, kind and patient professional who was never reluctant to answer my questions or those of others. Even after many years you just do not forget character.

John remembers having many good conversations with Granberry at the church while they were waiting to serve communion. He always talked about how proud he was of his children. We send our sympathy and love.

My deepest sympathy to all the family. It has been many years since I last visited with G H or Celeste and Fred but have often thought about them over the years. May God give each of you the strength to get through this loss and continue to bless you in all you do. My daily prayers will include all the family.

I was very sorry to hear of your loss. I worked for "Gus", as I knew him, for four years from 1960 through 1964. I have many, many memories from those years at the bottom of the hill in the same building with R. B. Clopton, Architect. This is where I met my Late wife of 44 years. She worked temporarily for Clopton.
Gus, was a fine gentlemen who loved his family. Annie Kate was very special to him. Sela used to come in the office as a small child with their huge dog "Ceasar". Ah, the memories, the good memories from a better time. I could go on forever but this is not the time or place. Just let it be said that Gus and the Ward family left a sweet place in my heart.
