GRANT LESLIE SADOWICK May 5th, 1961 January 5th,2006 Grant, age 44, of Colonsay, SK passed away peacefully at St. Paul's Hospital after a valiant fight with cancer. Grant is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Janice ( nee Braaten); daughter Janel (17); son, Logan (15) and special friend Dakota; mother, Anne; grandma, Alice; sister, Vicki (Randy) and her family. He is also survived by his caring in-laws, Ken and Lucy Braaten; brothers-in-law, Gerald (Myrna); Blaine (Molly); Kerry (Alison); Rob (Kathy) and their families; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and valued friends. Grant was predeceased by his father, Vic; grandfathers, Mike Sadowick and Len Edwards and grandmother, Evelyn Edwards. Grant participated in many sports, his favorites being hockey and baseball. He took great pride in watching Janel and Logan in their sporting endeavors. We are very proud of Grant's many accomplishments. He was always "inventing " something. Some of these inventions came to fruition and proved to be valuable additions to the farms success. Grant was a diligent farmer and self taught mechanic, which also contributed to the farms success. Grant spent many enjoyable days traveling, camping, snowmobiling and skiing with family and friends. Many hours were spent entertaining his children, his children's friends, nieces and nephews with quad rides, driving lessons, boat rides, tobogganing and wiener roasts. Grant was an amazing person that held his head high and never stopped pursuing his dreams and goals despite his illness. His strength, spirit, and wit were present even till his final hours. The family thanks the palliative care staff, cancer clinic staff and Dr. Keith for their special care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul's Hospital Foundation Palliative Care Unit (1702 20th St West Saskatoon,SK S7M 0Z9) or the Canadian Cancer Society (438 2nd. Ave. N Saskatoon, SK S7K 2C3). A Celebration of Grant's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 9th, 2006 from the Colonsay Community Hall. Interment to follow at Colonsay Cemetery. A beautiful life came to an end He died as he lived everyone's friend Treasure him God in your garden at rest For in our world he was one of the best. I often think about that Colonsay derby when Janice & Grant came to my rescue. Remember Janice ; your ski-doo kept failing to carry the extra weight because of clutch and belt problems but Grants perseverence & humour got us back, 3 hours late and tired from laughing. Grant, you handled your self well in this life and that has a lasting effect on family and friends that can only be good.
