Raymona and I visited Granville and Carol in their home in Laguna Hills, CA many years ago. Granville and I were avid genealogists and we exchanged tons of information - principally on the VAN NOTE family. His outstanding genealogical contributions will be treasured by many for years to come and he will long be remembered and sincerely missed.

My sincere condolences to the Hough family. I worked with Granny Hough in the Defense Intelligence Agency when he was an Army colonel. He was smart, friendly, and knowledgable. We roomed together for a week while attending a conference at the Navy Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, back in 1966. We both finished the books we had been reading and decided to swap. Two months later, he presented me with an erudite critique of Marshall McLuhan's "Understanding Media," which he submitted for a course he was taking at American University. May he rest in peace.

I am saddened to learn of Granville's passing. I am the son of Vera Jo Hough whose father was Homer in Smith County Mississippi. His writings added immeasurably to my own research and I am forever indebted to him.

I was sorry to read about Granville's passing away. when I did not hear from him I feared the worst. Granville had been exchanging American Revolutinary vessel data with me for some time
He will be sorely missed.I am still doing research thru his inspiration and concern. Robert Ogrodowski

As a fellow genealogist I was saddened by the passing of Mr. Hough. Although I never met him I have greatly benefited, as have many others, from his hard work on my McCarty family. I am sure the ancestors have welcomed him. My best wishes to his loved ones.

I met Granville Hough when I visited his son Robin at the Hough family home in the early seventies. The Houghs were so gracious and kind to me. Robin and I attended Raymond College together in 1969. I was trying to find him when I came across the news about his father's passing. I wish to extend my sincere condolences to the Hough family, his little sister Susanna, his brother, David. Would it be possible for you to contact me? I would be very grateful for anything you can tell me about Robin's life. I have his letters. I am deeply saddened that he is gone.

I acompany Granville Hough family in their time of grief. His work concerning the contributions of Spain to the independence of the United Staes was an inspiration to me and thus at an advanced age I decided to go to graduate school to study this subject. This morning I woke up early to work on a class paper and for some reason I "googled' his name and saw that he had died.

My sincere condolences to the Hough family.
I regret never having met Granville who accepted a history of my Huff/Hough ancestors and graciously commented favourably on it to be included in his overall works.

I would like to extend my condolences to the Family of Mr. Granville Hough. I never knew him personally, but because of the e-mails that I read sent to Elizabeth Pulley,I found him to have had an interesting and fantastic life. I know to each of you he will be missed, but remember one thing, you still have him in your heart always.
