In memory of
John Newsome
June 14, 2024
I'm so sorry to hear this news Gray was my friend and I worked with him after he got out of school and went to work at Tidewater Animal Hosp. I was there when Gray opened his business on Birdneck road in Virginia Beach. We worked together so many hours with the pets he had a Great passion for helping Animals and the owners. The veterinarian world truly loses a very good vet I'm so sorry for this loss and my heart goes out to his family may God be with everyone and give you peace and gray may you be in the place that you need to be and rest well and being next to our Heavenly Father and may you now have the peace that you need I love you my brother I'll never forget you John Newsome

I'm Carson Howard. I too can see Gray's face just like it was when we were lifeguards on the resort strip in Virginia Beach in the mid 70's. We shared some fun moments as we were in the prime of our lives. He was special and talented and I'm very sad that life took us in different directions. I've thought about him so often recently even sharing stories about us with my wife. And then I googled him and found this. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing but it sounds like his head and his heart were in the right place. I only wish I had connected some time ago when we could have recounted those lifeguard days together. I'll see him again in the next life.

Too soon gone. But will always have a part of him in my heart and life. Sleep well my dear friend. Rest in the arms of our Lord. Till we meet again.

I was a cheerleader at ODU when Gray was a basketball player. Years later he was my two cats' Vet. I always thought fondly of him and am sorry to hear that he is no longer with us. My deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved him.

I was in Gray's class at U of GA College of Veterinary Medicine. I am in Naples visiting my mother and happened to see the obituary. I have not seen Gray since we graduated but I can see and hear him as if it were yesterday. He was full of life and kind and friendly. It is devastating to know that he is no longer with us. His family has my deepest sympathy. The world has lost a wonderful person.

Gray was a caring gentle thoughtful and inspiring man. Always thinking of others and how he could make their life easier without imposing. A wonderful smile an endearing word and witty way of expressing a point in the Bible or life. A very good friend who is still looking out for us all in his new pain free eternal home. God has blessed us with your presents here on earth.
