Greg O'Connor, 66, Onawa, IA, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, IA after a long battle from complications following an automobile accident on June 15, 2011. Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, IA with Pastor Eric Koenig officiating. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Rush Family Chapel in Onawa, IA with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa. Greg Eugene was born April 25, 1947, in Sioux City, IA, the son of Clarence "Bud" and Geraldine (Armstrong) O'Connor. He was raised in the Mapleton area and graduated from Maple Valley High School in 1965. Greg and Jenell (Kluver) Jones were united in marriage on September 25, 1986 at Onawa, IA. Greg and Jenell made their home in Onawa. Greg was employed at Longhorn Bar in Correctionville, IBP, Crossroads Of Western Iowa, Aramark Uniforms, and Dugdale's Carwash. He enjoyed music, playing guitar, singing, bands, discussing politics, and cleaning cars. He was a wonderful cook. He took great pride in taking care of his yard. He was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. Greg was currently a resident at Pleasant View Care Center where he was well cared for and had many "girlfriends" there. He absolutely loved his wife, kids, and grandkids. Survivors include his wife, Jenell O'Connor of Onawa, IA; his children, Sarah (Pastor Eric) Koenig of LeRoy, KS, Larry (Misty) Jones of Onawa, IA, Dustin O'Connor of Onawa, IA; Lisa Love of Texas, Todd, Nathan, and Gale; four grandchildren, Jonathan Koenig and Kaitlyn Koenig of LeRoy, Kansas, Hunter, and Christian; two brothers, Tom (Carol) O'Connor of Denison, IA and Steve O'Connor of Sioux City, IA; two sisters, Janice Burns of Cherokee, IA and Linda (Mickey) Williams of Pueblo West, CO; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Orville (Marie) Kluver of Rawlins, WY, and Winifred (Cecil) Doty of Onawa, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant twin brother and sister, Jack & Jeannie O'Connor; and a brother-in-law, Robert Burns.
