To my family whom I love so much and to Greggs extended family who loved him so much,
What was to be a wonderful reunion in Hampton New Hampshire and Newburyport Massachusetts has instead turned out to be a very somber gathering in Wauchula Florida. My mother was flown down to Florida joining myself and six brothers and sisters to bid farewell to her son, our brother Gregg a twin in fact. Although sad indeed what we were able to witness as the other twin, George stepped up and was held up by the grace of God and the support of many, many friends of Greggs as he arranged and prepared everything so incredibly well. Her heart was filled with love and pride so much so I heard heard her say she certainly knows what a celebration of life truly is. Everything was remarkable, incredibly so. The church built to hold so many was not near large enough as it overflowed into the parking area and sidewalks. The reception line did not end! It seemed every intersection we passed in route to the church had a city policeman, a county policeman or a state trooper standing and saluting as we passed. (That is when I broke down because as a solder in the 70's I buried my Dad who was both a decorated solder and a policeman.)
At the services were; his friends, his students(past and present), their parents, new parents, his city, his entire county, his family and of course his three young daughters. All who have been affected by Greggs presence and his spirit.
The entire week has been nothing short of incredible as far as the outpouring of love and support by Greggs community.
It was indeed Greggs community not held together by boundaries but love. Incredible, everlasting and
pure love.
Almost immediately a progressive trust fund was set up for his girls. His Angels
The oldest is Kailah she is 14. Then there is Karley she's 10 and Madison who is 5. These girls are precious.
Gregg was so involved with everything he touched. He nurtured and cultivated everything and everybody he ever met and those lucky enough to have known him on any level will never forget him. Being reprimanded by Gregg, 'Coach White', Dean of Students was a badge of honor for some of these people. Especially if it was effective. He took a personal interest to those lacking solid family foundations and was known for his caring and generous heart. He was able to reach every walk of life both young and old and was often seen cutting peoples grass because he didn't quite know what to say to them in their moments of sorrow when they lost loved ones. Where Gregg found the time to do all he did and maintain his lawn care business is beyond me.
This coming school year the people of Wauchula Florida, Hardee County will begin their season with heavy hearts as they dedicate the football field and the year in his honor.
It is not going to be easy.
Heaven has a new coach this season.
I wish I could've been at the celebration yesterday on Plum Island to meet you all and to let you know it will be alright somehow and that I am sorry for your loss as well.
Thank you all for being who you were for Gregg.

I am so sorry for you loss, Gregg was absolutley a WONDERFUL person and such a loving dad. I have not seen him for some time but we talked most every year at Christmas.
He was like a brother to me over the years, I would pick him up for work at the Fishtale and we would laugh all night long. I so admired the way he lived his life and was very proud of him.
Gregg will always hold a very special place in my heart and I will miss him dearly. My prayers are with you all.

I have never witnessed such a celebration of life as I have for this man, this son, this brother, this father, this friend, this child of God this Gregg.

To Gayle and Family, I am saddened by your loss of Gregg at such a young time in his life, I haven.t seen him in years, but remember so well the kind and friendly young man from Oakland St. No words can discribe how much weight has been placed upon the shoulders of the entire , White, family, and extended family. but if you believe in your faith, you have to believe God had a higher calling for Gregg at this moment , at this time. I wish there were some majic words I could say to relieve the hurt and pain you all are feeling, I know that is not possible, but at this very moment, I am shareing some of it with you also.

I will never forget Gregg, he has been a member of my extended family since we were kids together. He always looked out for me when my brother Steve was away at school and gently guided me when I needed direction. Gregg was one of the special ones, a gentleman and a gentle man. The world has suffered a tremendous loss. I miss you Gregg.
