Gregory Paul Cone

Gregory Paul Cone Dothan - Gregory Paul Cone, Petty Officer 2nd Class, resident of Dothan, went to his Heavenly home on April 2, 2023. He was 52 years old.

Greg was born on November 4, 1970 at Homestead Air Force Base in Florida to Leslie G. Cone and Janet L. Cone. He was raised in Miami, Florida where he enjoyed surfing and the ocean. He was a graduate of Seabreeze High School in 1989. He went on to obtain his Bachelors degree from Daytona College and his Masters degree at UCF. He proceeded to serve his country by joining the Navy in 1991 where he served on the U.S.S Kitty Hawk Carrier. He went on to work for Verizon for many years as a Sales Manager. In his free time, he could be found cheering on the Miami Dolphins and the Hurricanes. He was known for his great personality and being able to light up any room he entered. He was passionate about animals and his faith.

He is proceeded in death by his dog of 13 years, Abbey.

He is survived by his mother who he loved dearly, Janet Schak; bonus dad, Gus "Pepe" Schak; father, Gene Cone Jr.; stepmother, Kimberly Cone; a loving grandmother, Edith Cone; two adored sisters, Melissa (Aaron) Burkhart and Kaitlynne Cone; an uncle, David (Elaine) Cone; aunts, Sharon Cone Martin and Victoria (Mark) Dunning; a nephew, Matthew Burkhart; a cousin, Ashley (Nick) Rolando; his long time companion and best friend, Ali Gilbert ; and his dog, Taylor.
