Greg was my first cousin. With me living in Nebraska, growing up I only got to see him for the one week their family would make the trip up each summer. But with our moms being so close, and so alike, I felt as if he, Beth & Becky were part of the family. I looked up to Greg more than I could admit to him. I didn't get a chance to tell him that until earlier this year. He was three years older than I, and as a kid I must have seemed like a pest to him. I followed him everywhere during that week and looked forward to playing football, baseball and basketball with him, hoping I could someday be as good as he. We both loved sports to the max. The football games we played together on our farm as kids are the times I I will remember most, and our conversations how we will never understand women will always make me laugh. I will always be in awe of what he accomplished academically and athletically. The life he lived was like watching a movie for me, like a dream for most guys. He wasn't afraid of chasing his dreams, all the way to the Czech Republic, and was not going to be denied of them. He was so proud of his boys, and I know his character and traits will live on forever. Bye for now, cuz. gonna miss ya. Beth, Becky, I'm so sorry; He was lucky to have sisters like you.
