Gregory Hartley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 3, 2009.
HARTLEY, Gregory Arthur William It is with great sadness that we announce Greg's passing on August 20, 2009 in Paris, France at the age of forty-three. Survived by his wife Noi and their two wonderful sons Clive and Quinlan. A loving son to parents Robert and May Hartley and beloved brother and brother-in-law to Robert (Jennifer), Jo-Anne (Hugh Wallace) and Melanie (Nicolas Chalifour), and dear uncle to nine nephews and nieces. Greg's sense of humour was only surpassed by his love and talent for the piano. He will be greatly missed. The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at Noon at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 120 rue Gervais, Otterburn Park J3H 1B1.

My memories of Greg as a young boy are of someone curious, intelligent and funny. My thoughts of Greg as a man are the same.

My sincerest condolences to Noi & his children, all his brothers and sisters, and his Mom and Dad.

Greg, you were like a brother to me, I'll never forget you for your sense of humour, and tongue in cheek sarcasm.
You were a loving father, a great friend, and for the time we knew eachother, a true brother.
We'll meet again in Valhalla.

Greg,
you were always a wild one. May you run wild in the best of wilderness.
And have a blast doing just that=)
Take care bro,

I am saddened by Greg's passing. I knew him only briefly, but in that time I came to know him as a passionate, creative, humourous and caring human being who lived his life as fully as he wanted to.

My condolences and most heartfelt best wishes to all who's lives touched Greg's especially his family.

"I like to believe that the body is just the vessel for the soul and the soul is the light that carries on when the body can no longer. It is knowing that this light is always present that keeps you warm inside.
If you light a candle when you're alone it can sometimes remind you of the light and makes you feel you're not alone."
May he Rest in Peace.

I did not know Greg well but we are connected through the "out-law" provision. Jo is married to my brother Hugh.
I spoke to him one hot day at a Bar-B-Q at my parents home. He was totally engaging and entertaining..and a great sense of humor! As the conversation continued I realized I was confiding in Greg things I would not normally have done. I believe from the glitter in his eye and the smile on his face he knew it too! I hope to know you better in stories I will hear.

I wish strength & peace to Noi and the boys and all the Hartley's.
