February 23, 2014
I've known Greg for many years since I came to the City of Sacramento in 1977. He was, in many respects, the conscience of the senior staff.

Greg was a good friend to the neighborhood and I enjoyed working with him on various neighborhood issues over the years. The best tribute we can make to Greg's memory is to continue on with the things he was working on with us.
My morning bike rides took me past his house and if he was outside I would stop and chat. I'll miss those chats.

To Greg's family...I only met Greg a few years back when we served together on our neighborhood SPHA board. We became good friends. I will always remember Greg for his integrity and sense of fairness. He was a champion for the underdog. I will miss my good friend and neighbor.

I've known Greg since he left the City and went into private business. I always enjoyed our interactions and catching up with him at the EMD counter. I will miss him and how he challenged me from time to time. He was a true advocate for his clients. I hope he's enjoying the year round skiing up above :) My thoughts are with his family.

I also extend my thoughts, condolences, and prayers to Greg's family. He was an excellent teacher and mentor when we worked together for the City of Sacramento and pretty much trained the entire Permits counter staff even after he started work as a development consultant. He always knew what was up with my kids and my life and just felt like a dear friend to me always even though our paths diverged some time ago. I have always known him to be a direct, honest, decent man - he never wanted or expected more of others than he was willing to demonstrate by his own actions. Very professional and kind. I will miss him. Vaya con Dios Greg.

Lindsay and Jennifer, I didn't know your dad for very long as I am new to Sacramento. I am the Community Development Director for Sac County. He was a very nice man, authentice and very able to get his point across. I sense he served his clients very well. His experience was amazing. We opened a new office late last year at 9700 Goethe and we asked your dad to be our first customer at the opening. We had Supervisor Susan Peters issue him his permit. He was all dressed up with suit and tie and a big smile and glad to help. May God bless you and your family with peace.

I worked with Greg for 25 years. We were also close friends. He was not only the best in his field, he was also a great friend. Most of all, he was proud of his daughters and grand children, always showing off their photos. I will miss him greatly. My sincere condolences to his family.

I always enjoyed working with Greg. When he would come in to the public counter earlier than 4:30 we would joke that it was time to go home! I will miss his sense of humor and all the good gossip he shared with me and of course the Coach handbag stories. Rest in peace my friend.
