Some people just stick in your memory, and Greg "Head" Linver was one of those. He was not only a Golden Gloves champ but also the uncrowned boxing champ of Hebrew Institute back in our elementary school days. Later I played hoops against him. He always played hard and wanted to win, but at the same time he had a great sense of humor and fun, as well as an enormous heart. Can't believe he's gone before his time.

I can not find myself sitting here writing in "Heads" Guest Book.. I will miss him very much. He and I go back to High School.. I will miss talking to him outside my house, when he would go by, if I was there sitting on the step or not, he would always beep.. I'd say, there goes Head..He would always say, When we going out? We did go out a few times to Karaoke, he was not only a Pro Boxer, a good roofer, he had the most beautiful voice. I can't imagine not seeing him anymore, it's been a sad week. I asked Head, in my thoughts if you can let me know you're in a better place, give me a sign, and that day I was getting in my car, I looked down to see a shiny penny, with Heads up..Now that's a sign from Heaven...Miss you my friend...RIP
May all his family find peace....

Greg was really one of a kind. A fierce competitor. He was always busting my chops and threatening to come out for the football team to take my job. He probably could have. To play basketball with him at the Bunkerhill playground meant getting bruised and blodied. He was so tough. But mostly he was a gregarious, humorous and self confident character. I will never forget him.

I will miss Head's physical presence greatly although know his spirit is alive and well.

I remember about 10 years ago after meeting him once that he gave my twins and I a lift from Bloomfield to PNC park. He realized that we missed the bus and we were going to be late to the game. We were virtually stangers to him. Not after that though.

Memories are God's gift and we will always enjoy the ones of him.

July 21, 2011

Dear Family,
I was shocked to read about Greg who drove up to talk to me because he knew my Uncle Danny Cicchetti who had owned the house previously. So many people honked their horns to say hello to him that our conversation was constantly interrupted. He was so jovial and knew alot about the wrestlers of years ago, too. When I needed an estimate on the garage roof, he obliged within a few days. I often thought of giving him other work. I am so so sorry. God blessings to him. Kim Baudry, Bloomfield
