One of Pastor Greg Powe's sermons that touched my heart greatly was the one where he had the two men following him and he did the sermon about surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and he had two men one had on a shirt that said goodness and the other said mercy and when he walked sidewalk and one Pastor Greg Powe would run they would run he'd run around the church and they would follow him and he said surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and it really touched my heart . Absent from the body present with the Lord and those who live and believe in me shall never die! Dearest Powe Family, it is over a year later that I learned of the home going of Pastor Greg. Thank God for each of you who carries on his legacy of faith and a faithful anointed wife who stood with him. I too, over 16 years ago experienced the departure of my husband/Pastor, and carrying on in ministry. God's best and grace as you continue with the vision.

I'm still at a loss for words. Under his leadership I developed into the man & Pastor that I am today. What an awesome Man of God. The last conversation we had right before he passed he told me how much he loved me. As we were hanging up Pastor told me how proud he was of me. Pastor, oh how I miss you! Love you much!

Any time I've ever had trouble in my life, I've always know that if I could get pastor Powe to pray with me, all would be good. Pastor baptized my daughter and I together on Ben T Davis Beach years ago. That is the first thing she remembered when I told her pastor was gone. There are no words to explain the value and worth that pastor brought to the Bay area. May God bless and keep his family during this difficult time.

I have been a member of RTM under the anointed Ledership of Pastor Powe for several years and can truely say that he was a Mighty Man of God. He really Servanthood, loved the Lord and the Word of God, When I joined the Ministry, I was spiritual broken and it was the Word of God ministered through Pastor that restored me and brought healing. If I would use one word to describbe Pastor Powe it would be "PROFOUND". His knowledge and insiight of the Word of God and Life itself - was beyond human understanding. This is a great loss to the Body of Christ. Rest in Peace Dr. Powe, I love you and will miss your teaching, your honesty and your smile.

Pastor Powe was instrumental in my walk with God for the past 7 years. I struggled to find a church home for over 2 years after moving from Newport News, VA. The first time I heard a sermon, I was immediately filled with an unspeakable spirit of jubilation, joy and assurance. I owe so much of my faithfulness to his consistent words of wisdom, guidance and most of all TRUTH! I'm forever grateful that God loved me enough to be blessed by his teachings. My heart is broken, but I pray for strength, comfort and healing for Pastor Deborah and the rest of his family.

Sometime, over ten years ago, I was a senior member of a group of men who played basketball on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, at the north Brandon YMCA. I remember when Pastor Greg Powe began playing with our group. I believe he played basketball with the same passion he preached. He and I were often the last to leave our sessions and consequently we had many conversations. I was blessed to learn more about him and his life. I found him to be pleasant, honest, decent and all about being positive and contributing to the positive aspects of our lives. I recall that the only time we ever disagreed was on the basketball court, when he rarely admitted fouling me (or anyone else).
I especially liked his sense of humor, and that he often found humor in the way that we live our lives. He often brought his sons and other young men to play on those mornings and they, like Greg, were always positive additions to our group. I hope that Greg enjoyed our discussions as much as I did. I am honored and privileged to have known him. I am certain he will be greatly missed by his family , friends, his ministry, and all others who have had the privilege of being acquainted with such a good man. My condolences to all.
I hope that when my time arrives, that I will be able to catch up with my old friend.

Pastor Powe will be greatly missed. He was my Pastor during my young adult years before I relocated. I was under his leadership for about 8 years and it was the best 8 years of my life.
