Gretchen Gleason Obituary
Gretchen is survived by her parents, David and Rosemary (George) Gleason, brother, David Robinson Gleason, sister, Jennifer (Gleason) Yacka, her husband Scott and their three sons: Christopher, Thomas, and Evan. She is also survived by her grandmother, Helen Gleason, uncle, Edward Gleason, aunt, Melanie George, uncle, Joseph George, aunt, Barbara George, and five cousins.
Visitation for Gretchen will be at Hanes Lineberry funeral home at 515 North Elm Street in Greensboro on Thursday, May 22nd from 7-9 pm. Gretchen was a lover of all animals, and donations may be made in her memory to the Guilford County Animal Shelter, 4525 West Wendover Ave., Greensboro, NC 27409. I can't believe you're gone, I just can't stop crying. You brought so much sunshine into my life and every life you touched. The world has truly lost a beautiful person. No matter how hard she was struggling, Gretchen was always there to lend a supportive word or just listen. Her beauty shined through in so many ways, and the support she gave will be remembered by so many. My deepest condolences to Gretchen's family and friends. Gretchen worked in my lab at UNCG, but it was in our personal interactions that she particularly stood out as a gentle, caring, person. She took after our cats lovingly whenever we were out of town and I know that she loved her own Teddy very deeply. I'm relieved to hear that Teddy will be cared for by her very generous friend; it is such a meaningful way to honor Gretchen's legacy.

I didn't know you on a personal basis but got to know you on Facebook. You brightened my day every day with your colorful posts, positive attitude, funny and corky photos and videos, all that gave me the impression of getting to know a fun loving, warm, graceful and bright person. Gretchen was and is a beautiful soul. She is dearly missed. I still cannot believe she is gone. My heart goes out to all who loved her. You are in my thoughts and prayers. The tears have not stopped from coming each time I realize I will not hear from her again. Instead I look to subtle signs in nature to know she is still with us.
