Gretchen A Logan

Gretchen Ann Logan, born April 9, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana passed away July 8, 2025, at the age of 87. The daughter of Emerson and Elizabeth Soland. Gretchen graduated in 1956 from Saint Agnes Academy and was a graduate of Indiana University in 1960 with a bachelor degree in business and elementary education.

Her devotion to the Catholic faith lead her to teaching positions at Holy Trinity, St. Matthews and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Schools.She resided in Carmel, Indiana for over 30 years with her husband Rodger D. Logan. Her business degree would later assist when working with Rodger in his company Merchants Capitol Corporation.

In the spring of 2008 Gretchen would make Weeki Wachee, Florida her new home. In her retirement she would continue to impact many people as a volunteer for over 13 years at Oak Hill Hospital. In 2013 she was awarded the First Humanitarian Award for being an outstanding volunteer and for her compassionate care. Along with her dog Annie, with whom she trained as a therapy dog, she would continue to bring joy and solace to many people with weekly visits to Hospice in Brooksville, Florida.

Gretchen peacefully passed in her home with her daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Robert Kleiner by her side. She is survived by her son William ( Marcie) Logan, Rebecca ( Jay) Stouppe, Richard ( Elinor) Logan and sister Mary Jane ( John) Finneran. This blended family would bless her with 8 grandchildren, 8 great grand children and 2 nephews.

Gretchen's passion for education throughout her life compelled her to donate her remains to Science Care in hopes that others may benefit from her life here on earth. There will be no services however donations may go to Guiding Eyes for the Blind or Rolling Dog Farm in her name.
