On behalf of the Rinker family, we wish to express our deepest sympathies to Nikolaus and his family. Gunnar kept in contact with his brothers-in-law and we appreciated him reaching out to us. May he rest in peace.

Our condolences go out to Gunnar´s son and family, his brothers and his church family and all of those that loved him! Gunnar was brave, tough and inspiring as he battled cancer over the past year and a half! He never complained, was always positive, secure in his faith and after a phone conversation with him you felt encouraged and blessed! Not sure how he did it, yes I do, it was his relationship with Christ! I am so thankful for our trip down to see him last year,( Mal, Mark, Pix, Greg, Jimmy), we went hoping to encourage Gunnar and instead he blessed us with his strength, determination and love. Gunnar was a true friend, classmate, fraternity brother and most of all a brother in Christ! Ken and Cheryl Kuliga

It was great to reconnect with Gunner these last several years. So many fond, fun memories from our high school years. I loved getting an occasional call and hearing about his latest crewing adventure. He cherished his family, fraternity, neighbors and church friends. Condolences to his family. He will always hold a special place in my heart. RIP Gunner.
