Gunther Hoffmann

Günther was such a warm and kind man. He served as Honorary Consul for Germany with such grace and respect that I always admired. He gave me the courage to take on this role for Austria and I am still guided by his stellar example.

God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Günther will always we fondly remembered by our community!

I met Gunther in 1979 when I went to work at First Farwest Insurance company. By late 1980 the company was doing a "reduction in force" and I was laid off. As I was leaving the company I happened to be on the down elevator with Gunther and he gave me some kind and helpful words which I always remembered. Then 10 years later we moved to Raleigh Hills in 1990 and I would often see and visit with Gunther as we took our daily walks. I have missed those walks and talks and I will always be grateful for the words he spoke to me at a low time in my life. Barry Armentrout

What a beautiful tribute to an incredible, talented, and amazing man. It was a privilege and pleasure to have met and interacted with him through my time working at the Port of Portland. I always looked forward to seeing him and talking with him. Gunther was always smiling, uplifting, and kind. May God bless him and each of his cherished family members and close friends. Praying your lifetime of love and wonderful memories with Gunther will bring great comfort and peace to each of you. The world has truly lost a bright light...
