Gwen BOECHLER

BOECHLER, Gwen (Shockey): It is with much sadness that the family of Gwen (Shockey) Boechler announces the sudden passing of their daughter, sister and aunt on Friday, Sept. 9th, 2016 in Calgary at the age of 60. Gwen is survived by her loving parents, Merle and Flora Shockey (Grande Prairie, Alta.) family: Warren and Lenora Shockey (Calgary), Karen and Stephen Boyne (Grande Prairie), mother-in-law, Pat Boechler (Saskatoon), Gary and Elaine Boechler (Kelowna), Alan and Donna Boechler (Stoney Plain) as well as nieces: Candace, Carla, Lindsay and nephews: Brock, Cameron, Adam, Tanner, Derek, Brett, Evan, Landon, Braden and Logan. Wendy and Jack Andrews. Gwen is predeceased by her husband Giles Boechler and his family members of Kasper, Guy, Kaz and Jan. Gwen had resided Kelowna, B.C for the past 30+ years and recently retired to Calgary after a long career with B.C Interior Health. Born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan in 1956, she and her family lived in North Battleford, Richard, Zelma and Allan in the CNR Train Station residence while her Father was the Station Agent during those years. She graduated from Allan School in 1974 and married her High School Sweetheart, Giles Boechler from Allan in 1976. They resided in Saskatoon until moving to Kelowna a few years later. She enjoyed time with family and friends with many happy memories. Curling, skiing, travelling and cheering for the Saskatchewan Roughriders highlighted those moments. She will always be remembered for her bright smile and caring devotion. She will be dearly missed by all and has gone to be with her Giles in their everlasting life. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
