Gwendolyn A. Padwojski

Gwendolyn A. Padwojski, of Dunlap, Illinois, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 26, 1929 in Kankakee, Illinois, the daughter of Nellie (Laurent) and Fred Brueggert.

Gwen was employed for many years by Sears, Roebuck and Company, as a sales associate, in the appliance division. For many years she was a member of Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Bourbonnais, IL and a member of the women's guild. Most recently she was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Parish in Peoria, IL.

Gwen is survived by her four daughters. Linda (Greg) Schulz of Blaine, MN, Dr. Anne Padwojski of Dunlap, IL, Pamela Cohen of Peoria, IL and Mary (John) Mitchell of Naperville, IL.

Five grandchildren, Drs. Blake (Annie) Cohen of Dunlap, IL, Samantha (David) Roehm of Dunlap, IL, Dr. Natalie (Nels) Pedersen of Peoria, IL, Dr. Sydney Mitchell (Nicholas Bedtka) of Plainfield, IL, Dr. Gabrielle Mitchell (Macklin Snyder) of Indianapolis, IN. and eight great grandchildren.

Gwen is preceded in death by her husband, John Padwojski, parents, Nellie and Fred Brueggert and nine siblings.

Gwen was a fabulous cook and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. She was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. Gwen was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 1, 2025, at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church with a visitation beginning at 9:30 AM until time of Mass. Fr. Stephen Willard will officiate. Burial will be at 12:00 noon, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at All Saints Cemetery and Mausoleum, 1839 W State Route 102 Bourbonnais, IL 60914.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church.
