To the family of Purdy Crawford, sincere condolences on your loss. Peter and I knew Purdy Crawford for the extraordinary contribution he made to Mount Allison University, but we know too that he will be profoundly missed by his family. We wish you strength at this difficult time.

Mr. Crawford was among great leaders that I had the honor of serving his clothing needs for many years.
I remember the first time I met him I was nervous but he made me feel so comfortable treating me as an equal a rare quality indeed I will miss him, but pray that he finds in heaven what he did on earth, peace and respect.

My late husband Bob Mitchell looked after Mr. Crawford at the Royal Bank, Bridgetown, Barbados in late sixties. I was a secretary for 7 yrs. at Osler, Hoskin previously before moving there. We spent a morning together with him and friends at the Barbados Yacht club.He was a very nice person. My condolences to his family.

Dear Bea,
While the country grieves Ellen and I are remembering a golden summer morning when Purdy led us across the sea bottom at Five Islands and showed Doris and Rob which rocks might contain amethysts. You both were great friends to us and we mourn his death.
