Larry oh I am so so sad that I will not see him ever again. I only new him for a short time in the sixties in Vermont but one only had to be with him just for a bit and you knew right away that he was one you would never forget. A huge heart. He could make you laugh all night long. Oh my heart aches for Peter and all those close to him. I was lucky to have known him

Dear Peter cullen, My heart is very heavy for you and your family. I know that your brother will be missed, but he will be with you in your heart. If you ever want to know where he is, just put your hand where your heart is and that's where he will be. Because the heart speaks, the heart speaks louder then words, the heart can be broken, but in time the heart can be meaded.

Mr. Cullen,
I am sorry for you and your family's loss. The story of the inspiration that your brother had on you gives me inspiration to be a better person, and to live by the ways of you, your brother and of optimus. Thank you Peter for sharing that part of your life with the world. I think it gives all of us hope that there is still goodness in the world, and a hope that more people will follow you and your brothers footsteps to grow and become better people. I look up to you. Thank you, and your brother for always keeping your fans close to your heart. I hope you can find comfort and closure. And know that we all love you

Dear Peter Cullen,
I've heard the passing of your older brother and I am saddened for his loss. As a fan, I'm glad you found an inspiration that represent a great hero character (Optimus Prime). As a person and a citizen of my country, I salute to the soldier that served our country, who fought with honor and integrity and love. AS an older sister, I hope to become an inspiration to my younger half-siblings, especially my second born sister. So, I thank your brother for being a soldier, an inspiration, as well as a loving big brother and wonderful person to you and your family. May he rest in peace. We all love you XD

Dear Mr. Cullen and family,
I would like to send you my condolences at the lost of you brother,Larry and please know that you all are in my prayers. Peter, I have been a fan of yours since the beginning. I lost my father when I was just 15 years old in 1985, after that I looked up to Optimus for that guidance. I may never get the chance to met you, but I wanted you to know that I love you for what you have met to me.

Michaela and Peter, I just heard of Larry's passing the other day. I was, and am speechless, and very, very saddened. I last saw him and yourselves back in Montreal at Sonny's memorial, and prior to that, the year before, when he invited Kathryn and I, and my son Adam to spend sometime with him down in Scituate, Mass. a couple of months after our daughter Robin's passing (his goddaughter)in the early summer of 1993. We then moved west (Calgary)in 1996, and now further west again. I often wonder, but don't do anything about it, why we so easily lose contact with the most meaningful friends in our lives, but unfortunately we tend to do so. Again our heartfelt condolences, and best wishes to both of you, and get in touch if you feel so inclined.

Your life inspired so many, and created a role model for children the world over that was truly worth living up to. Your life was real, and true. I never knew of you except through the initial story that Peter told where he got the inspiration for Optimus Prime. I honor you for being the real hero to the brother that loves you unquestionably and has immortalized your ideals into a form that will not be forgotten.

My own father served in the United States Air Force and in that service was stationed in Vietnam in 1971-1972. I seriously doubt Larry and my father ever met, though it'd be rather ironic if they had.

Optimus Prime was always a favourite of mine and Larry's younger brother, Peter Cullen, is definitely a favourite voice actor. So when I saw the dedication at the end of the TFPrime episode today (titled "Partners") about his brother, Larry, that was a serious shock. I have been recording the episodes as they air to be able to watch them again until the series is released on DVD for purchase, so I rewound it a bit to be sure of what I saw. I'm still shaking a bit as I type this, and my heart goes out to Peter Cullen and his family. I know from his own stories that he dearly loved his big brother and was likely very distraught when Larry died. If I could, I'd hug him and just let him cry, knowing he needs the support, though my best guess is that he has retreated to the arms of his family and closest friends for right now.

Were it not for such a strong and gentle inspiration that Peter Cullen saw in his big brother, Larry, his own real life hero, Optimus Prime would not be the same character we know and love today. Reading the obituary and how Larry is described, it was like reading a description of Optimus himself for me, so I can definitely see the connection Peter had to the character of Optimus Prime.

Rest well, dear one. Know that you are loved and cherished by your little brother Peter, and through him, treasured by every Transformers fan who loves Optimus Prime. Til all are one.

A class act all the way; condolences to his family and friends on the loss of a wonderful presence.
Last saw Larry at Jimbo's on Bishop in Montreal about 15 years ago where Nick Auf der Maur insisted that we sing as a trio with the karaoke machine. A not very wonderful performance (which may have led to the removal of the machine shortly thereafter) but a great example of the good spirits that Larry always evoked.

I remember Larry from way, way back. Good guy then and I am sure he remained so, suggesting that he has reached a higher place in life.

MICHAELA,PETER &FAMILIES,
WHAT GREAT SADNESS I FEEL! I HAVE MANY FOND MEMORIES OF TIMES PAST. WHEN LARRY RETURNED TO MONTREAL FROM VIET NAM I WAS WORKING DOWNTOWN AND WE SPENT FUN TIMES ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS.HE HAD NOT CHANGED AND STILL ENJOYED A GOOD LAUGH.
HE WAS STUNG BY HIS EXPERIENCE AND IN A VERY PRIVATE CONVERSATION SHOWED AND EXPRESSED HIS FEELINGS, SOMETHING I WILL NOT FORGET. MY MEMORIES THOUGH ARE OF A VIBRANT ATHLETE WHO NEVER GAVE UP, LIKE HIS KID BROTHER. I CANNOT EXPLAIN BUT I ALWAYS FELT CLOSE TO YOU TWO.
I WANTED TO VISIT WITH LARRY IN VIRGINIA ON OUR ANNUAL TREK TO FLORIDA, BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO GET CO-ORDONATES FOR HIM.
I WILL BE LETTING THE GRANTS' AND JOHN ROCHE KNOW ABOUT LARRY'S PASSING.
THE UNIQUELY DISTINCTIVE LAUGH IS NOW SILENCED AND HE IS CLOSE BY GOD AND SHARING A LAUGH WITH YOUR PARENTS.
GOD BLESS, AND BEST LOVE,
BRENDAN GUILFOYLE
