Lindy was fill in pastor at Guin First Baptist Church when I was a child. We met up again at Brookwood Hospice where I was a Hospice nurse and he was a chaplain there. What a wonderful blessing to find him again. He joined us for Sunday dinner after preaching at our church! I loved him and still tell stories about how he joined my child at her school teaching about his Indian heratige. Thanks to God for a real blessing finding Lindy again. I moved from Birmingham in 2000 to SW Florida but always thanked God for bringing me back to Lindy and blessing my daughter with Lindy Martin's love and care.

Dr. Martin was our pastor at Mt. Pisgah Baptist in Pell City when I was a child. He was always such a fun and loving pastor to the children. He is a great man of God and is now home with our Father. I was blessed to see him a few years ago when he spoke at a funeral of a family friend. He was still the same wonderful man that I remembered from back in my childhood. Such a blessing to so many. My condolences to his family for their loss.

Dear Sue and children, we were so sorry to hear of Lindy's passing. His loss will reverberate all through the southeast. He touched my children when I fortunate to work with him at Amedisys Hospice. Taking his trip via bus to the Cherokee nation in the Carolinas was an adventure we will never forget. God Bless you, Lindy, your work is done!
My deepest sympathies to you all. Revel in all of his stories, his humerous anecdotes, his " there's a moral to this" stories. What a shining example of a life well lived!

My late husband George Deadwyler served with Lindy at Ridgecrest Baptist Assembly on staff in the late 1940's and early 1950's. They kept up with each other especially when my children Kathy, Tommy and Sharon were students at Samford. I did not know your husband /Father like he did but heard many stories of their lives and wanted to send my condolences to you. He was a much loved man as was my George and am sure that they are catching up with one another as they are reunited at the feet of their Heavenly Father. Love and prayers, Betty Deadwyler Mt. Lindy was a most respected and loved man in our Sappony Indian community. He was a mentor to many and was very active in tribal affairs throughout his life. He was always a joy to talk with and loved being "back home". He will be missed by all who knew him whether personally or through his love of God. He and Jay will be together again. My condolences to all who loved him and I'm a better man for having known him.

Very sad to hear of Lindy' passing. He was my first Pastor at Marble City Baptist Church in 1968-70. I really liked him. He is with his boss now. A good man!

Knew him at Samford, was his church accompanist at Powderly Baptist, and enjoyed visiting him when he served at Vincent First Baptist. He actually came to my school in Jax FL as a guest speaker for a convocation service. Best of all, he baptized my dad.

My heart goes out to Sue, John, Sue Ellin, LuBeth, Leigh Fran, David & Danny. Dean Martin was my mentor & my friend soon after I entered SU. I soon became his student assistant and worked there the entire time I was in school. He took me under his wing & appointed me as your chief babysitter. He always made sure my car was in good working condition, and that was a major task with the car I had. He soon referred to me as his adopted daughter, and I appreciated how all of you took me into your family. My prayers are with you all, and I know that he is resting in God's presence today. With love, Barb
