Hailey Foisy Obituary
Born in the blizzard of '93, Hailey grew up in Huntingdon Valley, PA. She graduated from Lower Moreland High School in 2011, and went on study at Syracuse University's prestigious Newhouse School of Communications and the iSchool, where she met her husband Ryan Foisy. Hailey loved travel. Her career took her to Malaysia, South Africa, Argentina, Colombia, and Germany, to name a few. Hailey excelled at running, completing a total of 3 marathons (completing one in a banana costume!), countless half marathons and other races, qualifying for the Boston Marathon in December 2021. Her other accomplishments include speaking at a TedX conference, her photography, facilitating workshops for thousands during the Covid-19 pandemic, Syracuse alumna mentor, fostering dogs, and enveloping all those around her in love.
She is survived by her loving husband Ryan Foisy, her parents Andrea and Geoffrey Temple, her brother Dan the Man, and her sister Kelsey. To uphold her memory, we ask for donations to SPIN, an organization that supports people with intellectual disability and autism. Oh, Hay; our family has been devastated since Nov. 17th. We have known you for 8 ½ years, but thought we´d have forever to get to know you even better. When you met Ryan at Syracuse, you ran into our family and our hearts. You brought Ryan such joy. You made each other better. You brought out the silliness in Ry, the creativity, the fun. You lived life to the fullest with Ry. You filled each other´s voids and made each other whole.
You were also there for me. I felt so comforted when you held me as I learned that my sister died. You honored Ron and I by asking for our advice. You shared your gifts and talents with our whole family. You enhanced our family. Your pictures all over our house remind us every day of the beauty, light and joy you brought into our lives. Thank you, Hailey, for being such a blessing to us.
We miss you so much, for grief is born of great love. We are praying for healing for us all, but especially for Ryan and your family, all the time.

Our Hailey:
Initially the feelings of loss and shock were too big, too painful, and so difficult that there were no words to write. But now the words come. Our love for Hailey is so deep - we so miss the joy of being with her. We miss and now remember all she means to us - warmth, joy, enthusiasm, respect, energy and her zest for life. I only met Hailey a couple of times when we had company BBQ parties. However, her beautiful smile and curiosity to get to know someone new left a great impression on me. Can I call Hailey a "secret mentor"? I met Hailey while I was a senior at Syracuse and she presented to an iSchool class. After connecting the dots that we had the same dual major and minor during our time at SU, we connected on LinkedIn and I have been enthralled by her ever since.
While "secret" in nature that she most likely didn't know it, I greatly looked up to Hailey. Reading her posts and watching videos showcasing her break-the-rules work and social media attitude showed me a path where being a little bit different in design is not a bad thing. I remember silently cheering for her when I saw she left MURAL and started a whole new adventure for herself ... that was just so cool and brave.
I love the connectivity she prompts from the world. I love her style and reality. I want to be like her.
Though we truly didn't know each other well, thank you, Hailey, for showing me that different path. I really appreciate it.

Hailey and I met when she spoke at a conference in Cologne a few years ago. We hit it off immediately, talking about all the funny similar quirks we shared. I remember feeling so comfortable with her right away. She was so warm, funny and easy to talk to.
Despite living on different continents, we kept in touch over the years, having the odd video call to share where we were at with our careers and ambitions.
She was so thoughtful, curious and funny. I felt all of that, and didn´t know her very well... I cannot imagine how many more people she must have positively impacted.

Dr. Temple & Mrs. Temple, Kelsey, Dan and Ryan... My heart is broken. Hailey can no longer run with us. She will be running with the angels. During the last few years, Hailey trained really hard and had gotten so fast that she qualified for 2023 Boston Marathon. Last time I saw Hailey was a couple of months ago, while running in Irvine Hicks Canyon trail. She gave me her usual big smile, sweaty hug, and told me her joy of being Mrs. Foisy. She cared about people, evolving and growing always, and loved designing wonderful experiences for people. She was warm, open, full of radiant energy and always thrilling to be around. I can't believe she is gone. Her memory will continue to inspire me and so many others.

Hailey entered my life on the 5th July 2015 at a DT training session in Den Bosch, I remember to this day how she radiated energy and positivity wherever she went. We all soon learnt that there was so much more to Hailey than that ... a fearsome intellect and boundless creativity. My life, as well as so many others I am sure, was enhanced through Hailey being part of it!

Hailey was that kind of person that takes you less than a minute to become friends with. Always smiling, always tender and always supportive, she was a woman with great attitude and lot of confidence in her thoughts. My biggest feelings for her family and friends and up in the sky she is watching all of us.
