To Sharon, John's family and Greek Aroma staff:
My deepest sympathies and sincere prayers are with you at this difficult time. I got to know John after my beloved Gerry Antzoulatos passed away from the same illness a year ago. Going to Greek Aroma was like going back to the old country, eating quality food and viewing the video of Greece. At times John and I would discuss the worlds of Greece and Turkey. I had been to Istanbul,Turkey and I would reflect on the beautiful places I had visited many years ago.
John was indeed an exceptional man who dearly cared about his customers and team with great respect.
His departure from this earth created a great sorrow for you and only time can heal. He left you a wealth of memories of love, happiness and devotion that you will cherish the rest of your lives.
I have made a donation to the Pancreatic Lustgarten Foundation in John's memory. God Bless You !

To Sharon, Gulten Hanim and family, and the staff of Greek Aroma,

Basiniz sag olsun. My deepest condolences on your loss. Hakan Bey was a warm, generous friend to all, who will be very much missed in the Frederick community.
Although a kind and gentle soul, he brought a relentless passion and dedication to creating his jewel of a restaurant, as many Fredericktonians can attest. As a fellow countrywoman, I enjoyed satisfying my nostalgic cravings with his splendid cuisine. But it is our many conversations about our mutual homeland and culture that I shall miss most.
Hakan Bey, we were so fortunate to have known you and had you in our midst. It was too short a time that you stayed. May you rest in peace.

Our sincere condolences to John's family and staff. We enjoyed visiting John at his restaurant regularly, and he would always come say hello and chat when my wife and I dined at Greek Aroma. He would even come outside when we visited outside with our dogs - and he always came out to greet us all and chat. Such a terrible loss and very sad indeed. We will miss his warm smile...

I wish to offer my most heartfelt condolences to Sharon and the staff of Greek Aroma. John was an exceptional person. His smile could warm the coldest person. His enthusiasm, skill and tenacity as a business owner was only surpassed by his kindness, graciousness, and attentiveness. His excellence is reflected by his staff...always smiling, helpful and efficient.
I want Sharon to know that John noticed when I was gone for a prolonged period. He asked how I was and I explained that I had been off work for several months due to the unexpected death of my husband. He never failed to ask me each week how I was doing and if I was doing better. Cancer is so relentless. I pray that a cure is found before other wives and husbands suffer the loss of their spouse. Prayers to Sharon and family for peace and loving memories. And, Sharon, my prayers that every week will be a little better for you
