Hal was such a great man, I dearly loved him.
I've known you guys for what seems like forever and we have always had the ability to pick up where we left off, especially during long pauses in life. I look forward to seeing Hal again someday as I know we all are. Our dear friend told me how moving his memorial was and I saw the video...I know he was looking down on it all very humbly...and was so proud of the great job you did bringing everyone together to share his remember when's...what a truly auspicious life.
Most of all, I know what a devoted husband he was and also how very happily married...a match made in heaven! A true inspiration to me and so many others...a life well lived.
I love you Sandra...

Sandra, I was very saddened to learn of Hal's passing. He was my mentor while I was climbing the sales ranks at Rockwell in Troy. More importantly he was a true friend. He was so well respected and rightfully so. Hal really was "one of a kind" and a real stand up guy. I just loved the man. He touched a lot of people's lives. Prayers for you and Hal's loved ones. God Bless.

To the Booth Family:
I knew Hal since 1972 working with him at Rockwell Automotive Plastics in Detroit/Troy, MI.
He was one of Rockwell's top saleman and considered affectionately and professionally as an "old pro" with great success in the industry.
We all looked up to Hal for his calm and logical approach to business. I also got to know him as a strong competitor...especially on the golf course where he kicked my butt many times..what a golfer!
He was also a friend and colleague to so many people in the Automotive Industry and considered a leader among leaders in his field.
I also knew him as a friend and partner. In 1978, we decided to buy a plastics plant. He would put up most of the financial capital and I would leave Rockwell and run the operation. On a Friday we thought we had a deal for a plastics plant in New Baltimore, MI. On the following Monday, we learned that a major company purchased the plant for cash during the weekend. So, we did the next best thing....we bought a drug store.
For the next 7 years we had fun with this business opportunity with many ups and downs.....but we never lost our friendship nor our humor. After 7 years we gave up the store and decided it was a "unique" experience.
I spoke last to Hal about 2 years ago and asked if he wanted to invest in another drug store. After some choice words we reminisced and laughed.
There are people in our short lives that have a profound impact on us. Hal was one of those people. His friendship, professional behavior, kindness and care will always be kept in my mind and heart. He was a wonderful partner that was supporting.
I know a lot of people will miss Hal. I am one of them! I will never forget this special friend. Rest well Hal.

Sandy, we never met but Hal & I have know each for 39 years as members at BCC...I happen to be at BCC prior to Hal joining and from the moment I met him I knew him to be a great person...like many members at BCC he did have a similar trait, that was of course him being just another sand-bagger...we played in many tournaments together and it was always wonderful when he was my partner...Hal will be greatly missed by all and my heart goes out to you and the rest of your family...God Bless. I always felt so accepted and loved by Mr. Booth. He made me laugh and I loved to make him laugh. I knew he was so sick but he insisted on taking me out for my birthday in November with Sandra. In his last hours I asked him if he was scared and he said no, that he was well prepared. He was almost beaming. He then asked me about my life, helping me to make career decisions I had been struggling with. I was so moved by this, that he was thinking about me, not himself, when the doctor had just told him he had a short time to live. I was also so inspired by the love that he and Sandra shared, especially in this last year with her tirelessly at his side. They grew so close and it was beautiful to witness. We should all be so lucky to have loved and lived so fully. I love you, Mr. Booth. Rest in peace.

So sorry to hear about your loss, my thoughts and prayes are with you.
" We follow a pathway that has no end
as we travel through life day by day.
Together with those who are dear to our hearts
and are there by our side, come what may
But sometimes a loved one must travel ahead
for reasons that aren't always clear.
And we're left behind to continue along,
missing one who is no longer here.
And while it may seem that the pathway has stopped,
it merely has rounded a bend,
And our loved one goes on to a much brighter place
down the pathway that has no end."

It was my great pleasure to have worked along side and for Hal at Rockwell. I learned a great deal about taking care of the customers we served from him. His smile and personality were ideally suited for him to lead a global sales and service organization and to lead it so well. We send our sincerest condolences to you, Sandy, and your family. Hal left you and the rest of us with memories we will surely cherish. (Harold and Sunny Krivan, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL

When I think of Hal I will always remember his face, joyfully tearful as he watched you, Sandra, taking the podium at your first EPIC luncheon. His love and pride in you filled the room and the hearts of each of us who were privileged to share the magic of that moment. To be loved in such a profound and beautiful way is a gift that lasts beyond a lifetime. Yours was a romance for the ages. Hal will always be with you, his warmth, his wisdom, his humor, his generosity, his intelligence, his love. Those lasting gifts will help you and your family in the coming days and months as will the countless friends who will be by your side. Much love to you all.

January 3, 2013
Hal Booth and I met at Unity Church of Fort Lauderdale, bonded over a love for flying, and reveled, along with his beautiful wife Sandra, in the joy of my daughter, Amey, finding her voice - singing. I recall being overcome by the candor of Hal's emotion, tears sluicing over nearly every crevice of his face, unrelenting to his handkerchief. Yet, smiling as if he had been inspired by the voice of an angel.
I do not think of Hal Booth in the past tense. Cannot. Indeed, in my estimation, Hal long ago transcended such limits. To me, Hal always will be larger than life.
Forgive me, then, for writing of him in present tense; it can be no other way.
Hal Booth is one of those people everyone admires the instant their presence is sensed. Rarer still, the feeling gets only better with time. Awash in charisma, style, and finesse, Hal is, even-so, inimitably genuine and humble: an exception to the inherent contradiction that combination of attributes ordinarily seems to imply.
Among the most extraordinary of Hal Booth's many enviable qualities and accomplishments is how he bids US to feel. Following an encounter with Hal, the fundamental underpinnings that embroider the tapestry of this delusive veneer we call reality are revealed, at last, and at that, seem imbued by limitless possibility: poised on the verge of imminent actualization, awaiting simply the touch of our own clear intention.
Hal's generosity of spirit is best expressed in the context of his handshake; it is an embrace, an enfolding of the others' hand in a demonstration of unreserved joy at (re-)establishing an eye-wire connection, for the opportunity to share words, ideas, and adventures, for the chance to breathe the same air, and to simply be in each-others' company. At the moment of a handshake with Hal, everything else is dwarfed by the magnificence of having an outstretched hand encompassed like that: treasuring the lights of his eyes, relishing his smile, and savoring the palpable certainty of being warmly loved and admired-even, ...by a person who is himself so admirable..., for being precisely who we are.
If the truly gifted are those who reveal to others the gifts within themselves, than Hal is an extraordinarily enlightened old soul. Having long resided alongside my closest and most treasured friends, in the adjacent thought, Hal is, to me, as marvelous and present now as always.
In this life, Hal achieved exponential amplifications of all the things each of us hope to accomplish: he was extraordinarily successful in business, he enjoyed the love of a remarkably beautiful and talented woman, he made the world a better place by his participation, collaboration-in and contribution to it, and now he leads us again in transitioning to the next grand adventure while we admire him still... longing for that handshake.
Godspeed, and thank you, Hal, for being so remarkably who you are.

In the face of such deep sadness, words seem so empty and inadequate. However, as I reflect on my memories of Hal, the word "generosity" leaps forth. I knew him to be so very generous: with his disarming smile he bestowed so readily, with the attentive interest he expressed in the person in front of him, with his willingness to help others, with his resources in support of mental health, and with his boundless devotion to his beloved Sandra. On a personal note, Kurt and I will be forever grateful for Hal's efforts to reassure Kurt and provide for his comfort as he faced bypass surgery so soon after his own. It is nearly impossible for me to imagine Hal without that twinkling smile or without his soulmate Sandra at his side. It seems so unfair that he was taken from this earth so soon, from those who love him and those who need him. I am certain he smiles on us all now and will be your guardian angel forever, Sandra. I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.

Hal could have been a character out of a Damon Runyon novel. Small town, hard scrapple background who make a huge impact in life through his integrity, honesty and will to win, but only through a fair competition. Hal had the gift of having each of us believe that we were his best friend: What a guy !!! He'll be sorely missed.

Everyone at the Mental Health Association was saddened by the passing of our good friend and supporter Hal Booth. Hal and Sandra have been ardent supporters of the programs and services offered at the MHA. The fact that he and Sandra have designated the MHA as the recipient of gifts in lieu of flowers in his memory is a testament to Hal's and Sandra's giving nature.
The Mental Health Association has been in existance for over 55 years and stands for promoting good mental health, eliminating stigma and providing services to help people achieve their true potential. The MHA provides mentoring and support to children in schools to help promote academic acheivement and reduce absenteeism.
This is a truely sad time for the Booth familly and we at the Mental Health Association share that same sense of grief and sadness on the passing of a great man who was a great friend.
Rest in Peace knowing that your legacy lives on.

Sandy,
What can I say but thank-you? Thank you for sharing Hal with us and for our special friendship that has lasted for so many years. Thank you also for affording us the time we spent with Hal prior to his journey to be with the Lord. It was a treasured experience indelibly etched in my heart. I have never witnessed such strength, courage and humor in the face of death as I did in the hours prior to Hal's passing. I always knew that Hal loved his work. But in the end, I understood just how captivated Hal was with the art of the deal. I was surprised by how vividly and fondly he held the memories of the people he helped and influenced throughout his life, the friends he made in the process, and the pride of his professional accomplishments. Hal was truly a man of distinction. I would venture to say that the only love greater than Hal's love for his work was his love for you--the love of his life. You have always been a rock and a blessing for Hal, but especially so in this past year. You never left his side, and your strength and resilience were unending. You will always be my friends: Sal and Handy.
As always,

Sandy,
What a sad reality today when we learned of Hal's death. We really can't imagine the depth of your loss. Our hearts reach out to you during this difficult time.
Hal was a truly wonderful man, possessing such a treasury of admirable qualities. It was a genuine privilege for me to have known him and worked with him over the years. I will always remember his calm and reasoned demeanor, even in the
midst of any perceived crisis. And such a thoughtful fellow! As the expression goes, Hal was the "real deal." I always thought he would have been an incredibly distinguished U.S.Ambassador (to anywhere)!
I'm just so sorry I missed out on Hal's final days. As a result of this delayed news, I'm going to make a New Years resolution today to stay in better touch with my friends!
Please know that our prayers will be with you in the coming days.
