Oscar James Haley, Jr., 76, of Troy, passed away on March 29, 2017. Jameswas born on August 10, 1940, in Louisa, Va., to the late Oscar James Sr. and Irene Haley. He took great pride in building a local small business, ALKOH Supply. James started the business in 1991, and retired in 2015. Following retirement, hemade ahobby of repairing small engines and used this ability to repair lawnmowers for anyone who needed help.James had a knack forrepairing any type of mechanical equipment. He enjoyed collecting any and everything.Jamesenjoyedcreating pottery and gifting his creations to friends and family.He loved to be outdoors, and enjoyed gardening and sharing all that he grew. James is survived by his twin sister, Jane Johnson; uncle, Dillard Haley (Fay);sons, Thomas Haley (Elizabeth), Mitchell Haley (Amy), and Jim Haley (Cheryl); daughters, Gail Haley andJennifer Haley (John Lloyd); grandchildren, Christina, Scotty, Tabitha, Phillip, Vince, Shawn, Keith, Heather, Lucas, Brian, Angel, and Monica; and many great grandchildren. He is also survived by a niece, Peggy Henry (Roger). He will be missed by some special friends and neighbors, Josh, Megan, Brooke, Kathy, Pat, and Lionel. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017, at 2 p.m., at Teague Funeral Home in Charlottesville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
