I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to your entire family on the passing of Mrs. Hannah Hyams Jackman. Please accept my belated thoughts and prayers for all of you. Knowing Mrs. Hyams could only lead one to recognize her great kindness and compassion, and that she was a very caring, loving and good person.

She was one of the most influential people and the greatest teacher I have ever met in my life. She taught me Art at Sir Winston Churchill High School. I love Art to this day. I credit her with encouraging me to continue on in school which I may likely not have done without her. For the last 38 years I have had the opportunity of being able to practice law for which I give Mrs. Hyams my deepest and heartfelt thanks, Sincerely,

Mrs.Hyams had the most influence of all the teachers and professors I've had along the way.As the laziest student in
her Grade 7 class at Rosedale, she convinced me that if I finally smartened
up,applied myself,and used my abilities,that I could become something.
I took the advice,went to university,and
became a civil engineer and business
owner.
The system needs a lot more teachers like her.
Heartfelt condolences to the family.

I have often thought of "Mrs. Hyams" in my life. Mostly because she affected my life in such a positive way. After a bullying incident the year before, I arrived in her classroom in grade 7 at Rosedale school - 1964 I believe - and she built me up, she gave me the confidence in myself that I needed to find, and most of all she inspired me to be my best me. She recognized a talent in art, and encouraged me to continue, and to find peace and fulfillment in my art. Because of her, I still paint today, I exhibit, and I sell my works. I am thankful for having met her, and being given the opportunity to spend a year with her. I often wondered where she was.....my sympathies to the family, losing Hannah is a great loss.

Your mother taught me in grade 7 at Sir Arthur Currie in 1965-1966. She was well-liked by the class and inspired many of us to do well in life. I clearly remember her telling us comical stories about her children. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

As a friend of yours, Bunni, since university, I knew your mother Hannah over many years. Intimidated by her at first, I like to think that we eventually found our balance in our relationship. I enjoyed many visits and meals with Hannah in your home, and was always impressed by her energy and her candour. Her art was stunning. I send my sincere condolences to you, Bunni, and to the entire family for this deep loss. So sorry to have been out of town for the celebration of Hannah's life this past Sunday.
