Hannah Stovesand Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 26, 2025.
It is with both heartbreak and immense love that we announce the passing of Hannah Elizabeth Stovesand, beloved daughter, sister, friend, and light in the lives of so many. Hannah, who was 25 years old, passed away unexpectedly on February 5, 2025.

Hannah was born on August 13, 1999, at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. She grew up in Lompoc, California, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family, where she built a lifetime of cherished memories. As a lover of warm weather, Hannah moved to Phoenix where she lived out her college years with passion, determination, and an infectious sense of humor. In May 2023, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology from Arizona State University.

After graduating Hannah embraced a new adventure in Austin, Texas, where she found both a new home and a deepened bond with her older brother Joshua. It was in Austin where Hannah truly began to spread her wings, embracing life's adventures and cherishing the relationships that made her feel connected to the world around her.

To know Hannah was to experience joy - her presence was magnetic, her laughter contagious and her spirit unforgettable. She had an incredible laugh that could light up any room, and her quick wit and sassy charm left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was fiercely intelligent, deeply independent, and had a rare gift for making everyone around her feel truly seen and loved.

Above all, Hannah adored her family. They were her anchor, her greatest support, and the center of her world. Her kindness and compassion for others were evident in everything she did. Though our hearts ache without her, we take comfort in knowing she now rests in the loving arms of Jesus, whole and free from the struggles of type 1 diabetes. Her memory lives on in the hearts of all blessed to know her.

Hannah is survived by her mother, Tina Stovesand; father, David Stovesand; stepmother, Emily Stovesand; siblings: Renae Collins (Rodney), Bryan Aceves (Tara), Chrystella Emery-Woods, Nikki Kelly (Davis), Joshua Stovesand, Caleb Stovesand, and Rebekah Stovesand; grandmother, Nancy Siggins; loving aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Hannah's life will be held on March 15, 2025, at 12pm at Element Christian Church, 4890 Bethany Ln, Orcutt, CA, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to BreakthroughT1D.org to help others live with and overcome type 1 diabetes.

We love you endlessly, Hannah. You will always be our strong, courageous girl.
