Judge Harold an honorable man whom I had the privilege of having as my father-in-law. Someone I could call my friend. I will remember him always as someone who dearly loved life with his wife, family and God. He made a difference in our lives and someone whom we will always love, cherish and miss.

Our sympathy goes to the Clapp family. I so admired your family at Robert E. Lee. I missed having you Mrs. Clapp for a teacher and we all loved Pam. I had the opportunity to serve jury duty under Judge Clapp and he made such an impression on me. He told us all that it was a privilege and duty to be there and we should give back to the community. He had such knowledge and common sense. It is a joy knowing him and all of you. I know the Judge is doing well in heaven with all of his duties and interesting stories.

During his entire life, Judge Harold Clapp was a devoted man of exceptional character. He was devoted to his Lord Jesus as evidenced by his quiet and faithful walk with Christ. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather as seen by everyone who knew him and his family. He was a devoted public servant as demonstrated by his service to our nation during wartime and peacetime. We will miss his humor, his wisdom, and his company. Thank you God for his 89 years on earth and the difference he made in the lives of so many people.

Harold Clapp was undoubtedly one of the finest men I ever knew. Both Texas and Smith County have lost one of its wisest and most honorable jurists. And the Nation has lost another of its WWII heroes. I don't what I can add to that except my wish that I could continue hearing those same 10 jokes a hundred more times!
