Harold Glover

Harold E. Glover, age 81, went to be with the Lord and his beloved wife on Dec. 1, 2008, after a brief illness. Harold's rich baritone voice can now be unmistakably heard ringing through heaven's choir.
Harold had lived all his life in the Muddy Creek/Bristol area and had retired from Raytheon Co. He was a devoted husband, unfailing father, faithful brother and the greatest papaw in the entire world. Harold was a long-time member of Bradley Street Baptist Church. He loved golfing, gospel singing, traveling and the Atlanta Braves.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Trula Jane Miller Glover; sister, Lucille Massey; and two brothers, Ken and Dick Glover.
Survivors include one son, Rick Glover and wife Judy of Atlanta; one daughter, Sherielyn Glover Vaughn and husband Keith of Kingsport, Tenn.; one precious granddaughter, Natalie Allyn "Nat-Bug" Vaughn; one adoring grandson, Nicholas Chase "Buddy-Boy" Vaughn; one faithful brother, Arnold Glover and wife Edith; two special nieces, Gina Barnett and Renee Cunningham; and five great-nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, in Akard Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Joel Aldridge and the Rev. John Beeler officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memory Gardens in Blountville, Tenn.
Pallbearers will be Danny Leonard, Randall Sargent, Chris Gardner, Frank Barnett, Brad Barnett, Tyler Barnett and Derick Cunningham. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Cunningham, Shawn Cunningham, Ryan Cunningham and the gentlemen of Bradley Street Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
