Harold Katz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 25, 2025.
Harold "Hal" Katz passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, at the age of 99. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, June, and a loving father to four children. He was also a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren.

Hal led a remarkable life as an accomplished artist, therapist, businessman, and family patriarch. He served his country with honor and distinction during World War II. Throughout his life, he had a profound influence on those who knew him, leaving a lasting impact through his wisdom, humor, and generosity.

Known for his strong work ethic and dedication to family and friends, Hal also had a spontaneous sense of humor that brought joy to those around him. He loved to joke with family, friends, and anyone fortunate enough to meet him. His fondness for ice cream-especially chocolate, pistachio, and butter pecan-was well known among those close to him.

Hal had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and lifelong learning. He was rarely seen without a book in hand and often engaged others in deep philosophical discussions about life, achievement, and human motivation. Identifying as a humanist, he was passionate about advocating for his beliefs and championing those less fortunate.

Remaining active in life until his passing, Hal touched and enriched many lives. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
