"Joe" Koehler
Harold F. "Joe" Koehler, age 71, of Canton passed away unexpectedly in Mercy Medical Center on Sunday, March 11, 2007. Born in Canton on October 5, 1935 to the late Russell and Rebecca Koehler, he was a 1954 graduate of Lincoln High School and went to serve his country proudly in the United States Air Force. Harold was employed as a Canton City Firefighter where he retired from in 1988 after 25 years of faithful service. He was a very crafty man as he would make Christmas ornaments and enjoyed Christmas year round. He also enjoyed singing and antiquing. He will be cherished as a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Lynn, Kenneth and Russell Koehler, sister, Patricia Crites. Survivors include his wife, Patricia of the home and to whom he was married 17 wonderful years, three sons; Christopher Koehler, Dennis Wright, David Wright, two daughters; Renae (Jamie) Luce and Stephanie (Lee) Barnett, three brothers; Phillip (Anne) Koehler, Dale (Cindy) Koehler, and Bernard Koehler. There are five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also surviving. A memorial service will take place at 3:30 p.m. followed by a final alarm service on Friday, March 16, 2007 in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel with Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Calling hours will be one hour prior to the services from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. In honoring his wishes, Harold's body will be cremated and a burial of ashes may take place at a future date.
