Harold Love Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 12, 2025.
Harold Vernon Love was born in Snohomish WA to Merton and Nina Love on October 29, 1941. He passed away on February 8, 2025 at his home in Springdale WA after a brief battle with cancer and rests now in the arms of his beloved Lord and Saviour. Harold is survived by his wife Sheila, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage, and his children: Deb (Steve) Hardy, Diane Sallee, Rick (Carrie) Love, Rob (Michele) Love, Tim (Holly) Love, Tracey (Paula) Love, Mary (Alfredo) Huerta, and Sarah (Jason) Goms, as well as 34 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and his sister Dorothy Love McKillop.

Harold was a founding member of the Sultan Assembly of God church, which grew out of a small bible study in the home of a friend and leased spaces until they were able to purchase a farm in the middle of town. Harold and other church members worked tirelessly every weekend to remodel the old barn on the property into a sanctuary and classrooms and named it "The Glory Barn." He served nearly continuously on the Board until he moved away from the area in 2005.

Harold served as the mayor of Sultan from 1981 to 1984, having the distinction of being the youngest mayor in the history of the town. While mayor, he served on the Board at Community Transit and was instrumental in bringing public transportation to the Skykomish Valley.

In 2005, Harold and Sheila pulled up roots and moved to Springdale, WA where he continued his life of service to his church and to his community. He served on the Board at Loon Lake Assembly of God, and as a Council Member for the Town of Springdale at his passing. They also hosted a bible study in their home, which was always open to anyone who was in need.

Harold's Celebration of Life will be held at Christ's Church of Deer Park, 3804 W Herman Rd. Deer Park, WA this Saturday, 2/15/2025 at 1100 AM. Snacks and refreshments will immediately follow.

A memorial service will be held later this spring in Sultan for his friends and family who could not make the trip to Deer Park due to weather.

Our condolences to Sheila, Rob, Michelle and the whole Love family. While it's been many years since we lived next door, Harolds wonderful smile is immediately recognizable. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Harold and Sheila were such a big part of Sultan when Harley and I moved there. Love's Hill will always be just that to me. Their faith was known to all . Sheila may God's great love, mercy, and strength see you through these days ahead and may you find peace through him.

One of my favorite memories of Harold was when he was working on building a small pond for my aunt Serena, he turned off his tractor and looked at me as I watched and then he says "do you want a ride" I kind of looked around and then said "yes" so I got to help him dig with his tractor for probably a good half hour!!! RIP Harold, you will be missed! Thank you for everything you did for my family and I!

My Dad taught me so much. He taught me to fight for what it´s important, And let the rest go. He was not easy to offend. He loved unconditionally. He loved Jesus and sharing Jesus with everyone. Gave countless bibles to people to encourage them in their walk with the Lord. Always always had a smile and kind word.
My children will forever be blessed by the legacy that he left. And wonderful memories of him. Riding on his tractor, being taught various skills by him, he was always patient. Dad you are so loved and missed.
