Harold Louis Schneider was born June 8, 1935, in Rhame, ND, to Frank and Pauline (Kruzich) Schneider. He attended St. Mary’s boarding school in New England, ND, where he graduated high school. On October 16, 1954, Harold married Norma Maas. From that union came six children.
Harold worked for the South Dakota Wheat Growers in Aberdeen, SD. From there he went to work for Wilson Freight which later became All American Freight where he worked as a dock foreman. In 1974, he was transferred to Bismarck as a terminal manager. In 1980, he became an owner/operator of the American Freight Agency. In 1988, all the agencies of the company were closed. Harold then worked for Northern Improvement until his retirement in 2000.
Harold was a member of the Elks Club and the Optimist Club. Upon retirement, he did woodworking projects until his Alzheimer’s prevented it. Harold loved spending time in his garage puttering or sitting watching the trees. Harold’s faith was extremely important to him. He never missed Sunday Mass, went to Adoration, and frequently prayed the rosary.
Harold will be missed by his wife, Norma, Bismarck; son, James Schneider, Northwood; daughters, Roberta Schneider, Minot, Antoinette Schneider, Bismarck, and Tina (Jack) Eagon, Rhame, ND; three grandchildren, Rev. Nick Schneider, Douglas Eagon, and April Eagon; and two great-grandchildren, Sloane and Nathan Eagon.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Pauline Schneider; sons, Richard Schneider and Donald Schneider; brother, Robert Schneider; and sister, Helen Hill.
