Harold Stricker

Harold "Bud" Stricker, 78, of Newport, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Born on May 17, 1944 in Harrisburg, PA. Bud was an honored USMC veteran of the Vietnam War in the late 1960's; in 1969 he received the Navy Achievement Medal for superior performance of his combat duties in the field. He was retired from the former Roadway Express Company. Bud enjoyed watching the western TV series Cheyenne starring Clint Walker as well as other western TV movies with Clint Eastwood. In his pastimes he liked to fish, hunt and golf. He also enjoyed family reunions at Knoebels Grove Amusement Park, He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvine and Catherine (Radabaugh) Stricker, a sister, Delores Brown, a daughter, Tracy Betz, a son-in-law, Michael Capello and a stepson, Michael Stricker. Bud is survived by his daughter, Kim Still and her husband, Dave, a son, Timothy Stricker, a brother, Ronald, sisters, Barbara, Joyce, Jeannette, Linda, and Bonnie. He was a caring and loving grandfather to his grandchildren, Ashley, Brandy, Emma, Dakota, Dawson, Lillian, Kaitlyn, Michael, Nicole, Tanya and his 5 great grandchildren. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews who have fond memories of him as they grew up and shared events in his life. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Burial will be at Dauphin Cemetery, Dauphin, PA. Viewing will be from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday in the funeral home.
