Harry Bowering Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 3 to Nov. 7, 2007.
NOTICE OF ADDRESS CHANGE BOWERING, Harry Russell December 4, 1923 - October 16, 2007 Surrounded by the love of his family, Harry Russell Bowering passed on and into the arms of his beloved wife Pat, who predeceased him on January 28, 2002. Leaving to love him forever are his children, Susan of Edmonton, Laurie of Winnipeg, David of Edmonton; his twin granddaughters, Melissa and Danielle; and our very special family friend; Connie Holloway, our angel. Harry was predeceased by his mother and father, Gertrude and Joseph; his sister Julie and his brother, Myron. He will be dearly missed by his two sisters, Dorothy (John) Keane of Victoria and Vera Hand of Winnipeg, and by forever friends, Marjorie and Gerry Werry of Calgary. Harry will also be remembered and missed by his many nieces, nephews, neighbors and lifetime friends. In Harry's memory, we ask that you hum a bar of your favourite tune today, and know that our Dad will be pickin' it for you on his guitar up in heaven tonight. The song has ended, but the melody lingers on. At Harry's request, there will be no traditional funeral service; instead, we are holding a celebration of his life at Richmond Park Church, 9340 - 69 Avenue, Edmonton, on November 10, 2007 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue Edmonton, AB T6G-1Z2 (in loving memory of his beloved wife Patricia) or to St. Josephs Auxiliary Hospital, 10707 - 29 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6J-6W1 will be greatly appreciated. On reading the obituary of Harry Bowering, although the names and dates are not familiar, I had an Uncle Harry Bowering living in Nova Scotia and feel somehow there is a family connection. My birthday is the the same year as your Harry Bowering! ( ph. 780-466-2922)

Harry and Pat were good friends of my mom & dad Marge & Gerry Werry. I always called them Uncle Harry and Auntie Pat. I have such fond memories of both of them. Their family and ours lived in Regina together for awhile in the 60's. They were always so nice to me when I was a little girl and I will not forget them.

We have known Harry and Pat since their move from Winnipeg in 1960. What a wonderful couple who enjoyed life to the fullest and brought much happiness and laughter to every gathering.

You will be sadly missed Harry but never forgotten. From your many friends in Kelowna.
